Anyone know how to attach the AMG emblem on the drivers seat?

Bought an E55 last weekend and the only real issue with it is that the AMG emblem was missing when I bought it. The dealership ordered me a new one and sent it to me. But there is no way that this is going to be a simple job from what I can see.

What's left on the drivers seat is this...

The left hand side is a sharp piece and the right hand side is flat. Not sure what the hell happened, but I would like to get this reattached.

Here's some pics. Do you guys have an idea of how to get this back on?

I am not opposed having to trim the factory stuff back or the emblem, but I do not want to pull the seat apart to get it on. I'd like it on, but not that much if it came down to it.

And yes I tried to work it in there to see if it would just slide in, but it's a no go as is.

I figured.

Looks like a I have a few choices then...

trim this new piece back to the oval and trim the piece in the seat and use a dab of some decent adhesive and let it cure?

pull the seat apart and replace. (not going to do that.)

or

live with it.

remove the two T-15 screws on the bottom of the seat back, pull said back out and down to remove, run your arm up the back till you feel the tangs folded over, unfold pull to the rear and remove. Insert new logo from the front and have someone push on it to compress the seat, fold the tangs over and replace the seat back.

It's FAR easier to replace it correctly than to kludge it by gluing it on the front

took the seat back off. Looks more complicated than I anticipated. The emblem is at the very top of this pic. Looks like I have to take all of this stuff off. Not sure I want to now. I can't get my hand in there anywhere without taking stuff off and out. I would hate to dick something up just to put this emblem back on. What say you MBworld?

Where do you suggest getting to it from based on my pic? I tried working my hands in everywhere and no go.

Amazing Goop Automotive Adhesive

dealer quoted 550 per seat to replace the emblems on my seats, and graciously offered new uppers for 1290 + labor. Nice guy. I used amazing goop and let it set for two days and could not pull them off with pliers.

What a rip off. My friend is a MB tech. It took him all of 10 minutes to have the old piece out and the new piece in.

Ouch. seems I have had no luck in these situations. The MB Dealers here are full of BS and themselves, yet... I suppose the two are mutually exclusive.

I can tell you though I have found just about every MB part I have needed on Parts.com for 30-50% off. Example one quote on parts was 23K from local MB dealer and from parts.com (along with CLK in England for one part) I was able to do all of it for less than 10K. Parts.com should definitely become a sponsor. They have my vote. and YES all original OEM MB Parts, and same part numbers.

Go to your local MB dealer. I think mine were 40 or 70 each. I only needed one. You take off the back of the seat and then remove that large black box thing and you can reach your hand back there to remove them. I didn't do it. A friend who is a MB tech did mine and it took him no time at all.
