Best bang for buck wideband?
Considering running one. Don't need datalogging. 2 things that I really care for is the air/fuel and IAT's...
I was looking at the kiwi unit? Any other suggestions? Don't want to spend too much on it...

I have the PLX Kiwi Wifi w/iMFD port and the PLX 0^2 wideband module and sensor. Currently, only the Kiwi Wifi is installed on the car, and I'm using REV2 (iPhone app) to look at OBD stats and data log. I'm making arrangements to to have the wideband installed this month. Will update...

Hands down for zeitronix, Been using there set up for about 4 years now. Love it! Easy to get into and you can add features as you go. They keep inproving on there product and there a good company to deal with.

Looking at a LC1... before I pull the trigger just wondering how necessary this is for me... Actually is it necessary to have one even if you dynoed, AFR's are fine and all? Do AFRS fluctuate so much that you need a wide band to see the AFRs all the time?

If the E55 was more heavily modded (for ex. meth, nos etc) I'd def. run a wideband. No doubt that its safer to "monitor" it, but I rather monitor the road at 140mph Lol

I dont know about you, but when I had a wideband in my 500whp+ car, I didnt have time to look/monitor it when going WOT. It was really only used for road tuning and glanced at the first week or so and forgotten about after.

Gearing, and getting it up there dozens of times repeatedly while road tuning.
Dont get me wrong, I'm not saying you're wrong...just that for me, the wideband only really made sense in the tuning stages and shortly afterwards. Or if you're often adding mods it'd make more sense too I guess. Crossing fingers my AFR stays great on the E without one

Big Innovate Motorsports fan here but honestly I don't use it all the time. I just go rear pipe sniffer and run the cable into the backseat and just monitor a few WOT runs.
Rear pipe sniffer not as good as bung weld, but I guess it all depends on how much you are modding the thing ya know.
If the tune is solid and the AFs test out on some runs, I just leave it at that.
Heh, had a guy stop next to me and ask "What the F was sticking out of the back of my car" I told him Mercedes was doing some testing on emissions and it was a test car. He looked all psyched to be checking out a real test vehicle. LOL
