How hard to swap out lifters in the 55K?
Does the cam and sprocket have to be touched? Or can you just remove valve covers and then the rocker system and swap them out?
My lifters are make a lot of noise ( actually, it sound like just one of them is MUCH louder than the rest ). I just put in thinner oil ( I went with 5w30 instead of the 0w40 I had before ) to see if the thinner oil would make it easier for the lifters charge up more. I'll see how that works out for the next few days but if not then I may be willing to just replace them if it's not a huge teardown.
Anyone? My car has 57K miles.

Remove the valve cover, and then take out the rocker assembly. Nothing else needs to be touched.
The lifters can be had for pretty cheap from autohausaz. I don't know if there is a special tool but I pulled all of mine with a pair of channel-locks.
Torque specs are 8Nm first stage, then 120 degrees second stage. Torque order is pictured.

As far as tools go, you just need a set of external torx sockets for the coils and all the bolts. The coils can be lifted up and set on top of the supercharger, and if you forget to label coil location, it's pretty easy to figure out as the coil connectors are all different lengths.
I would advise against taking out the smaller two screws on the breather (passenger side) otherwise you'd have to reseal it with a gasket maker.
When I did mine, I used a fresh gasket and cleaned the surface and torqued to spec and still ended up with a slight oil leak. Next time I am going to follow Yacht Master's write-up:

Well, noise did go down some but it's still pretty loud. I dunno if I care enough to change them out. I'm more afraid of a valve dropping due to the lifter slamming on it. Does this even happen on 55K's?

You can lift the rocker assembly off of everything without screwing with any other part of the valve-train, then just set it back in the way it came out. There really is no need to touch anything else in there.
