Got my car weighed today...Not bad I guess...

I have a bare bones 2005 E55. No panorama, no Distronic, no parktronic, no dynamic seats. I think the only thing I have optional is the navigation ( if that was even an option in 05 ).

I got it weighed today and it came out to 4053lbs with a half tank of gas. My car has absolutely no weight reduction so it seems like I have a good weight to start with...lol. It's also remarkably balanced. Front to rear is 52.7% / 47.3% which I was kinda shocked to find out. Side to side ain't bad either.

Anyways, the weights without me came out to:
L - R

1041 - 1096 F

939 - 977 R

And with me ( 4217lbs total ):

L - R

1087 - 1122 F

1009 - 999 R

Interesting. For comparison, a 2010 M5 is 4012 lbs dry.

That's a healthy E55 (at least weight wise)

The E63s are a little heavier.... with Premium 2 package, most E63s come in at 4200 lbs and with pano roof, I think they were close to 4340 lbs

Your worst nightmare...
Thats a very good weight to begin:

Some of the weight reduction plans I have planned for the track are, just to share:

1. BBS LM's - there are lighter wheels, but I like these
2. Battery- Some out there that reduce weight by at least 30- 40lbs
3. Lighter Rotors- 10 lbs on each corner??
4. Remove spare tire-20 lbs

Anything else out there? Thought about seats but thats a little extreme at this point...

You can go the C63 route and try a Carbon fiber hood/trunk

I actually found that kinda weird...I actually weigh 185 with cloths on so I guess the scales have some margin of error.

As for the diet...yeah...

I dread to think what my car would weigh. I have the Pano and seats and I'm about 180lbs with an empty stomach. I drive around with a full tank of gas 90% of the time.

Yup, not much I can do though...I guess it's pretty close to the expected weight though since my E55 is bare bones. According to Yahoo Auto a 2005 E55's curb weight is 4087. Close enough I guess.
