HANKOOK VENTUS V12 TIRE UPDATE.

Just replaced all four Hankook tires on my car at a total cost of only $750! About the cost of TWO Michelin PS2's.

WEAR: Much better than the PS2'S. Almost 15K on the rears as compared to
about 8 to 10K with the Michelin's. Even better on the front.

TRACTION: Not as good as the PS2'S but close. Noticable loss of traction in
below 50 degree weather but I live in Florida so no problem.

RIDE: As good as the PS2'S IMO.

NOISE: Non existant. Just as smooth and quiet as the PS2'S.

CONCLUSION: Will continue to buy these tires as long as the quality and
price remain. Are they as good as the Michelin's? No. But,
for my kind of driving, they're just fine and the price is hard
beat. For more agressive drivers and track use, if you can
afford it, you might be happier with Michelin's.

Just had these mounted and balanced yesterday, so far I am very pleased for the money. Just as noted above - very smooth and the road noise/hum is non-existant!

I have had my Hancook's for 7,000 miles. They are very smooth and quiet. I do not run my car hard, so cannot comment on track performance, but the wear to date has been minimal in the rears / fronts, should be able to get 20,000 miles easy.

Have them on my 19" with over 10k miles and still good tread left front and rear.

Just had them mounted on the 20" rims too.

Make sure the SKU number is listed on your receipt or they will deny your rebate. Pretty shady since it does not say anything about the SKU on the rebate form...

My car is laid up with a flat tire, so I was thinking about buying these Hankooks to replace my Nittos. I've had some rubbing issues up front, so I'm planning on going with 245/30-20 and 275/30-20. I need a little extra rubber in the rear due to the mad potholes in the area.

Does this sound like a good idea?

Your worst nightmare...
I have the V12 Ventus on my car as well and so far so good. And no I did not buy them to match my EV12...LOL. These were on the BBS LMs when I bought the wheel set.

I'm looking at the v12's as well in 20 inch for my new to be rims.

Question:

Did you do research on the noise of these hankook v12 tires. It seems that they are very quiet which is what I want..are there even quieter ones out there..just want to know my options.

Thanks!

Put them on the 996tt and love them! PS2s are a waste of money unless you are Mario Andretti and you drive like a race car driver every day!

I'm not so sure about the PS2's being better on the track but I do know for certain that the Hankook's have completely elim inated the rear tire wiggle that the PS2's were prone to do. I installed them on my modded SL55 and I am very happy.

I hated the one set I ran. Never seemed to give a smooth ride. Always some vibration.

However, everyone should run on a set of Hankook R-s3 for a day. Insane stick. Those are what I run on the track.

I just put a 19" set on as well. Great tire, can't beat the price.

The vibration that you were encountering could have been caused by one or 2 tires being out of round. I had 305x25x20's fitted for my rear tires; out of 5 tires 3 were so badly out of round that they could not be balanced. The fronts at 255x30x20 were fine. Fortunately the Tire Rack handled the entire thing and the mounting, demounting, balancing ,shipping, etc. was completely reimbursed by them.

I just put a pair of V12's on the front of my E55 and am happy so far....have a little more tread to burn off the Toyo Proxes on the back before I put V12's there too. Great tire for the price.
