275/30/20 vs 285/30/20 vs 295/25/20 tires
I'm kind of double minded if I want to go back to a 25 series tire again...
How do these tires compare? Anyone have pictures, and or using any of the wheels... 285/30 might rub? 275/30 looks tempting...

I've been asking myself the same question lately. I currently have a Nitto 555 275/35-20 in back and it BARELY clears, but I don't want to go with a 25 sidewall.
I've pretty much come to the conclusion I'll be running 245/30-20 and 275/30-20 when I order my next set.

Your just begging for bent rims, with the ultra low profile 25 series.
I have 275/35-19s, and they ride and handle well, for such a heavy car, but with a even lower profile, I would risk bending a wheel, on potholes or whatever.
I wouldn't even run a 30 series out front. But that's just me. Who wants to be buying replacement wheels all the time. Just my opinion.

IMO you'll just be sacrificing the loww look and maybe gain some comfort. My /25 series tire lived and /30 did not..go figure. You already knew that though.

I been using 25 profile on all my cars, but not all my cars have been 500hp beasts lol... Had 285/25s no bent rims just the small sidewall not great for spirited driving.
275/35 would look bad. 275/30 may still look decent...
Game 4 boy! Last game was... Lol

275-295 difference is marginal at best. The biggest traction gains are in the compound used for the particular tire.
My 275/35-20 looks just fine, but I'm a fan of the beefy look in the back (it's not even THAT beefy)
Here's a pic of my car with 275/30-20:

Anyway, I don't think it looks as bad as people claim. My 275/35-20 was fine so I assume 275/30-20 will be even better. I'm going to do Hankook tires as they seem to have a narrower tread pattern and rounded sidewalls. I think the Nitto Invos are the same way.
It really depends on what your wheel width and offset allows. You may even be able to with 285/30-20 but you'd need to be careful with clearances.

Along with the sizes, I’d be asking what the brand and style of tyre other members are using.
I know it’s not an E Class but the photos give a good indication of how 285/25 Yokohama Advan Sports fits a 20x10 rim.

That’s a difficult question to answer as treadwidth figures don’t necessarily give an accurate picture of the actual surface contact due to variations in tyre designs from manufacturer to manufacturer.

There are some nice cars and wheels shown here.
With that tyre combo, the diameter of the rears will be 18mm larger than the fronts. The car will look jacked up in the rear.
If you wish to avoid a low profile, a 245/35 in front may be a better option. At least that’s my opinion.
Thanks mate for the compliment.
You’re right the offsets are a critical start to good fitment and if you’re pushing the boundaries, so is tyre choice.
Like I said, over the years I’ve noticed a lot of differences between manufacturers for tyres with supposedly the same specifications. Some are wider than others. Now when choosing I take the advice and experience of my seller and if the fit is not quite right, they changed them to something else.
