well my pads are virtually dust free and this car is a toy. stays in the garage more than on the road. so if you start clean keeping them clean wont be to tough. anyway if they prove to be a bear ill just have shardul recoat them for me!! maybe copper?

not sure if the heat would be an issue but i know for sure the media he used to bead blast the calipers would penetrate the seals, so i removed the dust boots and seals . that way i can inspect the bores and insure no debris is allowed inside before the rebuild. no way i want any kind of grit inside the pistons as these are super expensive and used are rare as can be. i spent 2 yrs collecting all the slk55 parts to do this swap

Steve, these are going to look superb my friend. Can't wait to see 'em bolted up.

You will, however, have to turn your garage into a clean room (think hospital) in order to install these without smudging them

That looks really nice! I gave up trying to find a local place to powdercoat mine white for a reasonable price. I can't remove them for downtime reasons either.
Have a white g2 kit that'll be diy in a few days.

not really a secret as a treasure hunt! slk55 calipers with either the 340mm or the 360mm brackets used are almost impossible to find and cost a fortune new. i started almost 2 yrs ago collecting what i needed in calipers and rotors. aside from trimming the dust shield this is a bolt on setup and sheds over 9 lbs rotational weight and another 6 lbs static weight per side!! the racing brake 2 piece rotors are a work of art and feel featherlite!

btw it wasnt me in fl. my dyno was done in atl. with my black 32 which is now totalled. my new ride is a 2003 slk32 in everest green metallic. 1 of 8 in the world!!
