Cluster conversion from MPH to Km/H
After importing a CLS into Canada I would like to convert all the values to metric. I want to change the Fahrenheit to Celsius and MPH to KM/H. I know that the digital display can be changed, but the Analog stays in MPH. Would I need to swap out the whole cluster? This would be on a 2006 CLS55 btw. Also, if by some miracle I can find a used KM/H cluster, will it need to be programmed by the dealer?
I read that a cluster can only be used once? is that true? If so, can I just change the gauge faces? I found some E63 style faces for sale on ebay.de. would those work with a 2006 style cluster?

The Cluster is all digital the numbered markings do not have a kph or mph on them. You just go into the menu and select kph. The needle will then read kph

On my SLK55 the needle used to change, the speedo MPH light would turn off and the Km/H light would turn on. But on these clusters, it seems like you can only change the digital read out. thats why I'm wondering if I can just use the km/h gauge overlays on the MPH speedo

You can buy just the guage faces with The KPH marking. I see them on German ebay from time to time( search AMG tacho). You have to take the cluster out and the front cover off. The faces are interchangeable.

oh ya RPMs dont look like they will match up... the 4 on the 07+ one is in the middle whereas on the 06 its in the middle.... i guess i'll buy the E55 cluster and swap the faces
