I for one wish that Finny would stop restoring old pinball machines and bring his expertise back to this site....

He had this figured out 3 years ago, and was ready to put his TMC solution into mass production:

The idea came from dropping a couple of these on top of the 55K motor....

I'd love to see EvoSport release their product.....at a decent price..... but enough already with the 5-month "teaser" thread.

If this product is real:

- Post Dyno Results / Video
- Post Photos of the Parts and Installation
- Post the Price

If it was that easy, this thread would be moot. There is the issue of how you go about getting the SLR top mounts, then what actually you need to do to install it in a E55 engine, what additional parts are needed to accomplish the go and so forth.

you are better off to call renntech in florida, back in 2007 they had an slr top mount kit for ours cars and from memory they were asking 16k for that setup.

I just emailed evotech to find out if they still make that kit

edit returned email

here is renntechs version

The air intakes on both of these kits are horrible. It looks like the SLR version uses the cabin filter area (not sure how other bank breathes) and the Renntech version allows that car to do "under 12 second quater mile at 122" Whopdeefukendoo.... I think the market for this kit is now looking at 10.5 or better (at 130)

There is no doubt there is value in this product, its just taking a while to get here....

10 second cars are fully gutted on race gas and a stock sl55 weighs more than an e55,about 300lbs more.

Those numbers are also estimates anyway and Im sure they would make a 10second e55 even faster.

I think this car made close to 600whp

It looks like Dyno Comp did all the work. Whats strange is that they have not tried to make more. After the inital one; making more would only be easier. With those gains and the market that is out here now I'm sure people would pony up a few dollars for it. That was back in 2007.

Its not that, there is no market for people droping 15k on cooling mods.If they put together a kit that was 3-4k they would sell a lot more.

That's what I ment, they need to price it appropriately and if they do they WILL get alot of customers. 15k though is not something everyone drops on a cooling mod. Sure some will but it's not a mass production thing

IDK how much actual room is left in the E55k vs SLR for CAI? But from just looking @ the pix w/SLR coolers & RENN versions, there is a nice 2"-3" Trench/Valley right down the center of the Supercharger looks like perfect spot to heavily retrofit an SLR Type intake (you could more than likely use the Throttle/body connection part of OEM SLR intake, then run your own ducting custom/filtered airbox or cone filters etc)

(since the air openings aren't the same as SLR, some creative ducting would need to be fab'd up to split the SLR type CAI @ front of engine w/Silicone Y-pipe or whatever material you choose, then w/CAI split you'd run ducting/air tubes to the left & right factory holes

The full size of SLR CAI is def too large to fit down the center, you could still use the same basic idea to create a much better flowing CAI vs attaching an airfilter to the throttlebody or in the cabin airfilter spot. IE make or use something like the Vararam CAI made for Corvettes.

Again add a Y-pipe of some sort then run custom SS tubing down between the intercoolers above Charger then creatively Fab it up to this Vararam intake (cut Vararam in 2 then you could run this Vararam type ducting to the bottom/front by HeatExchanger for true CAI.

Vararam made another version for latest C6, I used it on my past Vette it worked great made 35+ rwhp vs stock as True Ram-Air (they had plenty of C6 before/after 1/4 mi results proving power)

Thank you for your patience.
Is this some kind of joke EvoSport, you tell us you have "very favorable" results but you don't post them and then don't even give updates for 10 days. Let me guess is April the 1st the launch date of this product If you have the results why not post them. I'm sorry for bumping this up every week or so everybody but I thought this was gonna be a game changing mod. Clearly we live at a different paces.

Why do I have a feeling that Evosport is waiting for Weistec to release their supercharger to see what they price it at so they can then price these intercoolers as high as possible but not close enough to the supercharger cost? I could be crazy but it just seems that there is no reason to not have these out on the market yet.

These people are a joke. Any company that keeps feeding us crap about something that will come out "in a few weeks" every few months is not a company I'm interested in buying from.

I'm still interested!
I saw them in person on the test car and they look awesome.
Not to mention the air temp exiting the cooler is less than half the temp of the air entering the coolers.
Then there's the added HP/TQ!

I'm also interested in Lelix's SLR Supercharger!

Where there any issues on the test car that would prevent them from releasing these?

No issues that I'm aware of, just on road real life driving conditions which take time. Simon said that they will complete the air flow from the throttle body to the front of the engine bay with a professional looking intake with airbox. I believe that will take some time to create since one airbox might not fit all the 55K models.

Well worth the long wait. I can only imagine what this would do to a 650rwhp 55K platform.
