Those Rotiform INDs have to be one of the most under appreciated wheels for the w211 platform. Just beautiful!

I know Pewter isn't the most popular color but It has really grown on me. Here is my 04 after powder coating some reps Boston grey.

Also I get a few compliments here and there on the grille. I tried plastidipping the whole thing and I really didn't like the way it came out, looked to "aftermarket". I then peeled it and started over. This time I decided to slowly and carefully detach the chrome portion and dip it only. This allowed me to keep the black gloss fins and create a cool effect. it takes some time removing it but well worth it and a much more finished look.

Pewter is the best color. The same as only real men wear pink.

How long did it take you to remove the chrome piece off of that front grille? I was staring at mine but after looking at all of those tabs, forget about it. lol! I wanted it to be blackchromed to give it a nice shine and OE look.

Thanks!

It really wasn't that bad, you just have to take your time with it. You might break one or two along the way but there are so many that it rarely causes an issue. I just used a pair of needle nose pliers and a plastic shim. I then removed clips and slowly walked the shim down the grille to prevent them from popping back into place. I would say maybe 10-15 minutes tops once the grille is off.
