Damn dude, I didn't mean to offend you. I was just showing you that this was not the first wide body on an E class. Don't take it to the heart. Honestly I like this one. It is alot smoother and it would be nice to be able to put a 12 in the rear. BTW I f***ing hate RICE!

HAHA don't sweat it man I was just joking with those and Although I still think that the widebody W211 in those links is really bad looking but hey, you didn't make it so you have no reason to be ashamed. The widebody one I posted in the OP is GORGEOUS. That's what people are misunderstanding. I said it looks great but the performance drawbacks outweigh the good things. Plus the E Class is a "classy" car so it does take away from that appeal and make it more "racy and sporty". So what I'm saying is as a car, it's AMAZING looking, as a Mercedes E Class, a little over the top.

The one in your links though is HIDEOUS, no offense

It really does complete the W211 look. I think this is what the E55 should have looked like to rival the M5, I still can't get around the performance consequences though. Let's see how the paint goes to see if it lost the classy look. Thank God there's no sills or vents. As a car it's just but as an E Class.....I just don't know. Although I am speculating on only pics, let's see how it looks when painted. All in all a STUNNING looking thing

performance consequences? lol like what going from 11.5 sec 1/4 to 11.50001 sec

its not like these cars are trapping at 180mph where miniscule drag coefficient differences come into play.

i think having a black series looking AMG well outweighs the .000001 sec diff i might loss in the 1/4 lol

or i could just lose 100lbs on the car and take of 1/10th sec in the 1/4

in the end these cars are way more about style/luxury than alll out performance anyways... they are a stylish luxurious 4 door sedan that is quick for a 4 door, but not a dragster where u should worry about not putting a subwoofer in the trunk cuz it will add 40lbs and take .04 sec off the 1/4

THIS. unless he's planning on installing a flux capacitor and going a bajillion fillion mph there's gonna be little to no difference in performance. If anything he'll be running super wide tires allowing some monster 60' fts, as we all know wheel spin can be a B***h with all that torque.

great build saw this last year when they first started the build, can not wait to see the finished end product

I'm cautiously optimistic with this. I think the front looks great, but I'm in a wait and see mode with how the rear flairs blend with the rear bumper. I wonder if they shouldn't have pulled the bumper out wider and smoothed the transition. I mean in some of these side shot pictures it looks like the rear just fades away behind the rear tire.

I like where it's going though...

This is a project, not a kit, maybe it'll become one but now it's just a custom prototype. It does look amazing though, really brings out the W211's muscles. With this kit the LOOKS of the E63/E55 KILL the E60 M5, that's the only thing I used to hate about this car is the lack of flared fenders and beefy looks. I just hope there are no performance drawbacks.

Of course there will be SOME performance drawbacks.. All the extra weight from the extra metal, to the weight from running wider wheels and tires..

That's not too big of an issue, once they get the shape they can make molds off it and then produce a dry carbon version. That will be lighter than stock for sure even if by a small amount. I was talking more about drag but the LOOKS are just EPIC so I too would sacrifice performance for that look. Besides, adding power and dropping a couple of hundred pounds off the weight would counter the effect. Maybe they can measure the drag coefficient once they finish the project, it's not a hard thing to do and it could give insight to what's what. Plus Mercedes used a widebody on the SL65 Black so I'd think that if it was that bad they wouldn't have done it.

Thanks for the comments

Thank everyone for their comments and recommendations. This build is a project of one of the owners of Rollin’Art. It is another extension of his passion within the aftermarket industry. Like any change that is a deviation against the status quo, there will many negative comments on his choice of development on the wide body. He really did not start the build in the hopes of mass producing the kit, but it seems the build has created some notoriety overseas. We are now in the talks with a prominent German manufacture to create a version for consumers. We hope to solidify all the nuances of the arrangement by SEMA.

Maybe it's the angle or lighting, but the rear wheel opening looks substantially smaller than the front. Aesthetically it seems crowded and awkward....

I'll reserve final judgement for when it's in final paint with all trim reinstalled.

Ignore the RS4 build (it's awesome but not my topic), go down the page and have a look at that widebody E55 build. When I saw it I was all WTF While it looks awesome from the back I think it makes the car a bit vulgar, almost ricey. I mean it is a four door sedan, at the end of the day it has a certain class to it. The widebody look suits the CLK because it's a coupe but what do you guys think? Plus doesn't it increase drag, I mean the W211 is known for having a fairly good coefficient of drag.
Painted in Bianco Fugi White....you can see a good portion of the paint booth in the pics

At this time, we do not offer anything exclusive to the MB market, but we are in “talks” to provide several body enhancements in the near future…here is a brief overview of Rollin ‘Art

The Rollin’ Art Brand is set to incorporate a lifestyle around the concepts and ideas emerging from projects and retail line. Although our facility is at the hub of the SEMA market, Las Vegas, we primarily cater to high end customization and classic vehicle restorations.

Our facility which can provide the following:
–Custom exterior installations
–Full re-paint
–Complete interior overhauls in any manageable substrate
–Design and install of unique audio/ video projects
–Performance upgrades from simple bolt-ons to complete one-offs
–Turn Key Solutions, from classic restorations to full blown show car

Our Goals are the following

- Develop, build, and market vehicular platforms for SEMA Customers
- Incorporate project management principle in each build to ensure completion within budget and timeline
- Create a must have brand that builds SEMA brand equity
- Create a global name in various merchandizing products

Just wanted to give you what we are about, but we will become official site sponsors when we can cater to the MB customer…..first product will be the e55 Rollin’Art wide body program

…..should we start a pre-Group Buy….Ha
