Angry Battery/Alternator, Stop vehicle!

Tonight, Suddenly while driving the car and without any warning, I got red sign of battery and a written sign "Visit workshop", and convenience bla bla is temporary unavailable. After that by around 30 minutes, I got the message "Battery/Alternator, Stop vehicle!" and won't go even if you tried to move through the arrows.

As I got home after driving 45 minutes since I got the first message "Visit workshop with red sign of battery", I switched off the car and then I tried to start on, it does not start. I checked the batteries terminals (Main + Aux) seems ok with no problems. Checked main battery status (Green light which is battery is ok) I have different battery other than Bosch.

I tried to search in the forum for similar case, could not get, most of the people continue driving for few days and the sign of convenience features goes and comes.

any one has suggestion? what could go wrong suddenly?

No strange sounds or noise were noticed on the car before this issue.

it's likely your alternator. either way, DO NOT drive your car!!! our braking system requires power and you WILL end up with no brakes!!

I replaced this ******* alternator last year. I hope it is not. Let's see, maybe the voltage regulator of the alternator.

Check the Voltage Regulator. I got this message a few weeks back. The Voltage Regulator was loose. tightened all the bolts, screws, etc... and it has been fine ever since.

That's exactly what I intend to do tomorrow.

I just started the car again after keeping it for about 3 hours, and the car runs for few minutes then Visit workshop but no alternator sing. I switched off, tomorrow on day time will be the check.

If that's not loose, try disconnecting the battery for a few. This car tends to act funny sometimes. Good luck! Keep us posted.

Bad news, We don't have voltage regulators sold alone with F****** Bosch center. Totally not fair.

It's my daily drive car and tomorrow work will start, I have to change the damn alternator. I Will see how it goes.

W211 E220
Hello I have a 2003 W211 E220 CDi. recently it displayed an error message of Brakes Defective, Stop vehicle! and immediately next Battery/alternator error stop vehicle!.. Can any one advise me whether it is an error caused by the SBC unit failure or does the brake error comes due to the battery error since SBC system is totally based on battery power..
Thank you
