I’ve searched through the topics & although there are walkthroughs, I can’t seem to find a detailed diagram showing specifically WHAT needs to be unplugged on SBC system should you not have a STAR computer handy.
I assume a simple pad change is quite easy/straightforward. My only concern is: any specific way to put pads back in (I.e. top/bottom/front/back/etc)….. and also: how do the carbon sensors need to be installed?
If one was to keep careful track of the removal of old pads/sensors would the job be pretty straightforward & therefore simple?? Has anyone (who has access to the machine) turned/resurfaced these rotors? I'm not replacing them as they are fine, so better off left alone or not?

Open the hood, right behind the right headlight you will see the SBC block, on the front left side of that block you will see a electrical plug with what looks like a t handle on the top of the connector. Pull that up and the connector will come off the SBC block.

Install is as they say the reverse of removal

If you don't unplug the connector just make sure you don't open any doors because that activates the sbc

and whether they are or not, what does centric mean ??

No reason on earth to do it that way and take the risk of the SBC waking up. Pulling the plug takes all of 5 seconds

There are affordable tools available for de-activating the SBC if you're looking for something more certain than wondering if you unplugged the SBC connector far enough:

You can also deactivate through STAR, and there's always the nuclear option of disconnecting both of the car's batteries. Take your pick of methods; just deactivate the SBC before working on the brakes.

Is the SBC in the same location (behind right headlight) on an 07 SL55?

Is the SBC in the same location on an 07 SL55? Is it fairly easy to identify in that it is the only electrical connection behind the right headlight? Is that driver's or passenger's side?

Thanks! After i disconnect, it becomes a routine brake job? Also, if pad wear sensor light comes on, after replacing brake sensors, will sensor light go off?

Another question on this. If you disconnect the SBC and change the pads and rotors, do you need to pump the pedal before reconnecting the SBC? What I am getting at, will the SBC when activated, push (seat) the pads to the rotor?

Once you are done replacing everything and button up the car, replace the connector, lock it and then open the drivers door, that will charge the brakes. Tart the car and slowly apply the brakes a few times and you are done

When compressing caliper pistons, other than removing master cylinder cap is there anything else that needs to be opened?
