Not feeling the yellow. Too much going on with the black/silver rims, pewter, yellow, chrome.

I've been thinking about eliminating the chrome...maybe just paint it black or silver.

Any details on the process would be great. Did you take the calipers off and paint or wrap everything else in newspaper and paint? How many coats, etc.?

Thinking of painting mine as well.

That job looks good, almost like a powdercoat, except for the yellow.

I used automotive paint, a polyurethane based paint that does not need clear coat and still comes out super glossy. I used a spray gun with compressor.

I removed the brake pads and removed the caliper from the knuckle but did not disconnect the caliper because I didn't want to bleed the system. After cleaning the calipers I sanded them down with a 600 grit paper and washed them again. Then I started to paint them once dried. I must have put about 6 coats of paint, very thick.

I'll drive it like this for a while since it wasn't easy. I'm happy with the way it came out but sometimes I'm happy with something for like a month and then I hate it...we'll see if this will be the case. If I get tired of it I'll probably paint it oem silver again or maybe even titanium colored or something. It only cost me $30.

I also want to change the badge colors to black but fear the project may become difficult.

Nice. I used a Rustoleum black pearl for my badges, been holding up over a year with the proper prep. Since you are using a gun/compressor I'm sure you know how to do it right.

What I don't know is how to put them back on after removal...I fear the letters will become crooked.

Draw a line with pencil & a straightedge. Works great. Also, remember to get orientation correct vs backwards on the other side-i did that long time ago. If I did all over again I would do red.
