Just passed 81k miles and had my first Airmatic failure

Front driver side. Passed over a parking lot speed bump realllllly slow but after that I could hear a weird high pitched whistling sound. Then the Car Too Low warning. Got it home without any difficulty, until the final turn into the driveway, where it seemed to just go kaput. Hoping my mechanic can track down a rebuilt unit to save me some cash. The service tech reacted like this is about as common as his morning cup of Joe.

Airmatic failure is like gravity, impossible to avoid. The Arnotts are a great way to go. My car had the rear Airmatics replaced at 17,000 miles!

My biggest fear with this car was that my airmatic would fail...so far so good...I have yet to have a failure.

GT-ER,

You just jinks yourself I had a rear air spring go out about two years ago, nothing since then. A failure is inevitable, it's just a matter of when.

This is outstanding, that it lasted for 6 years and 81K

I asked them on the phone 2 months ago and they said no ... but then again I was not speaking to Adam. Lucky I was only needing fronts. I just happened to ask about rears. Excellent company!
