"NAVIGATION DEVICE UNAVAILABLE" - thoughts?
I clicked the "NAV" button and this message appeared on the screen. I clicked "MAP" button, same deal.
I attempted to shut the car off and it might just be a glitch, nope, still there. I've tried it a couple times today, still same deal.
Culprit? Any ideas?
Thank you

It stops working due to a lack of communication. The two orange wires are the MOST optical ring. You are essentially breaking the ring.
Have you noticed any moisture in your trunk? It appears as though the bracket for the navigation drive has been wet.
If you look at the discoloration of the bracket. It appears as though there was water on it at one time. The MOST connector is only the two lines. There is nothing missing. The reason your head unit stops working is due to the fact that it can no longer communicate with any of the other components on the optical ring when it is disconnected. Even if a secondary component(navigation) dies. The signal that is sent out by the master(AGW) is looped through failed component. This allows the audio system to continue to operate if a secondary component fails.
If you cannot get the navigation unit to eject/load a disk. If the power supply and ground is good. You probably have a failed drive. Sometimes performing a hard restart will get things working for a little while, but is not a permanent fix to a problem.
