Limited Slip
Considering buying a 2005 E55 ... owner claims that it has an AMG Limited slip , can this be correct ? I thought none of the AMG LSD were available on that year from MB ? Am I wrong , and how should I check ?

Honestly, he's probably doing the "well I did a burnout and both tires lit up" mistake.
It's an honest mistake, people don't get how the AMG rear works. Lots different than a 69 camaro.

guys forgive me if this issue has been discussed before , Ia m new to the W211 forum and playing catchup .. I am serious about buying a W211 E55 and the seller is claiming it has LSD which I debated at first , and I thought I iwll confirm it on my trusted forum ! I am not sure what Open Diff is but I well do some reading Thank you all

Guys, Mine came with LSD as an option from factory.
it was part of the performance pack and the data card shows 099 code, its listed in the E55 brochure also.
I spoke to the original owner and he had to wait an extra 4 weeks as the car had to go to another AMG plant to have the LSD fitted, then returned to the plant to complete install.
i`ll try and dig out the AMG options brochure as i have the paper copy, heres a link to the standard brochure
