CLS55 AMG
![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon12.gif)
Look at it here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wzv2Bc4ylGY
Some preliminary figures (in KM/H , sorry i dont do MPH) from Motorsport
0-100km/h: 3.8s
0-160km/h: 7.7s
0-200km/h: 11.6s
0-250km/h: 18.8s
CLS63 PP (Autobild sportcars)
0-100km/h: 4.1s
0-160km/h: 8.4s
0-200km/h: 12.5s
Here is magazine data for my CLS55 for comparison
0-100: 4.7s
0-160: 10.6s
0-200: 15.4s
0-250: 24.0s
And here is
Whats most impressive is the 62.5mph-125mph time (similar to your US 60-130)
F10 M5 : 7.8s
CLS63 PP: 8.4s
CLS55 Stock: 10.7s
My CLS55 with seconday cats removed and race exhaust: 10.48s
So overall may be slightly quicker. We'll see how the M5 transmission handles tuning, from what i gather in the forum CLS's 7-speed slasher is doing ok with 650+HP

2 Seconds difference 0-160 is a few carlengths. 3 Seconds difference 0-200 is an eternity.
The F10 will dog a CLS63 if this is the case.

2 diff mags so the comparos are not equal... and of course its mag racing but since we are on the topic---
The latest Car and Driver has the F10 and CLSTT with PP
0-60 at 3.7 for the F10 and 3.8 for the CLS
0-100 at 8.3 for both
both have 122 traps in the quarter
F10 is faster to 150 by half a second though
but since we live in the real world- we know that the a non PP CLS with a tune by RT and soft launches runs 125 traps and 11.3 in the quarter.

complete list of 100-200 kph http://audisrs.com/archive/performan...__t_21089.html
7.8 seconds puts the M5 with the LP640.. a number somewhat questionable considering the M5 is down about 70 HP and some 600 lbs heavier
8.4 puts the CLS next to the 977TT (doesn't specify what generation probably pre-facelift) and the F430. Also puts it ahead of the SL65

They did. German magazine Auto Zeitung. M5 vs E63TT with performance package. M5 faster across the spectrum.
0-100km/h- 4.1 vs 4.2
0-160km/h- 8.2 vs 8.5
0-200km/h- 12.3 vs 12.7.
Panemera Turbo S was tested as well. M5 just a little slower than Panemera across the board

I'm on the fence. I really, really like the F10. Great lines, I definitely like it better than the blocky 212.

As Cylinder said.. gearing and the better/more efficient true auto clutch manual DCT tranny. Faster shifts- less DT loss makes the BMW formidable up top ... again and now down low. Should be a toss up between the E and the F10 IMHO.

CLS55 AMG
just to make sure the numbers are correct, i am posting here the available test times for CLS63PP
http://www.germancarforum.com/cls-cl...e-package.html
http://www.germancarforum.com/intern...-powerkit.html
The same Magazine that tested the M5 0-200km/h at 11.6s had the CLS63PP clock a 13.2s time (so slower). M5 scan with times is still not online so i will post when it gets scanned

it was played out allot on the E60....but do you actually have any figures for the new one, or is it just knee jerk reaction?

after 150.. I give the edge to the M-DCT.
The lighter E chassic could have a sligh edge... but again back to reaction time, and to so many little factors.
Gone are the days.. the M5 was 3 seconds faster to 150... that was bus lengths..
In my book, if the handling is closer to the M5, has top end power just a the M5, the CLS63, E63 is fine car.
M5 is a super sedan and the AMG cars are right there as well. Respect to both companies.

The Mercedes MCT on the other hand is the same long-geared 7 speed mercedes has been using but with a wet startup clutch instead of a torque converter.

M-DCT is like SMGIII on steroids. Twin clutches on a real sequential transmission and short gearing. Each clutch works its own gearset.
