The Guppies are flexing their brain power again.
I admit I have to go to the C63 forum every day because there's a strong possibility of someone saying or doing something pants-on-head stupid. Today is no different.
See below, teenager asking if a C63 is a good idea for their first car:

I wanna say my first car at 16 (1979 Dodge Colt Twin Stick) had 95hp, or something like that.
Managed to wreck it twice. Once was drifting in the snow and hit a curb, and once was due to total brake failure.
I once ran it WOT for 5 miles without lifting.

When I was 17 I had 112hp in a 85 Ford LTD that I bought for $200. By 18 I stepped up to 140hp in an 88 Cutlass Supreme Classic. The cutlass ran 22 or 23 second 1/4 miles! lol
Still have the cutlass as my father bought it new and I grew up in the car. Now it has a crazy lil small block chevy and a fuel cell in the trunk though. lol

Awww Hells no!
I've been right around 170 in it a few times, once with the top down. Wasn't one of my smarter moments. The car still feels pretty damn planted at that speed. I raced a Viper to that speed not so long ago, and I'll be honest....afterwards I had to stop and get out of the car for a minute. The car never felt upset, but I won't be doing that again anytime soon.
Jerry (Eurocharged) tossed me the keys to his heavily worked E60 M5, at the Texas Mile in October. Ran it to 166mph with a pretty gusty wind at the big end. THAT, was a bit more unnerving.
Even if I had the room, and could do it legally, I have no desire to test out 5 miles of WOT in the 600. I'd do it in a purpose built car in a heartbeat though.

Stupid people will find a way to kill themselves, one way or the other. I'd trust a responsible 16-year-old in a C63 over some of the 45-year-old cell phone-talking morons I dodge in traffic every day.
With that said, I almost killed myself several times in my first car: an '84 Cressida. Had that been a C63, I'd be dead.
Guess I just called myself stupid, too.

^ that could of happened in a 50hp yugo as it was alcohol related.... generally teens dont drink and drive like any other age group would, meaning when a teen drinks its usually pounding a case of milwakees best and blackout drunk level while most grown ups dont drink that way after college (though some still may its not as normal)
so teen+ drunk driving = dead
sober teen + fast car= not so much

It's all subjective though with all the electronic safety devices manufacturers have put in cars are a lot easier to drive nowadays then even 10 years ago. Plus just because someone is 16 doesn't mean they are going to drag race from stop light to stop light at every opportunity. My first car was a POS Ford Taurus that lasted 4 months that I paid for out of my own pocket. My next car was a LT1 Camaro that I learned to drive stick in. The difference in HP was night and day. While 275hp doesn't seem to be a lot compared to a C63 for early 90's that was a lot of HP. I say if you can do it why the F not. Just be smart about it.

Conti DW's 245/40 and 275/35... The rears are shot though.. The car will be sitting for the next 4 months, so let me know.. Would be good for you because you could run a bfg drag radial or something in the rear with all that power.. (better tire options for 18s)
