Repost. The driver of the 63 was sleeping at the launch. If they would've launched at the same time, the 63 probably would have given up a greater fight but I think the M5 would've still walked on the 63.

Also in the vid, I think M was using launch control. It's not the greatest but for the losers in the video, would have helped BIG TIME!!!

come on guys, look at the specs. I love both cars, M5 is awesome but looks like humpback whale in my eyes. M5 has no other versions performance wise, engine output is the same no matter the options. The e63 in this video (only under assumption) doesn't have the AMG performance package.

On Paper:

M5:
560hp 500 ft tq @26 psi boost

E63:
518hp 516 ft tq @14 psi boost (that isn't ****)

E63 w/ AMG Perf Pack @18.8 psi boost
550hp 590 ft tq

The AMG would definitely win the race, it was only .3 tenths second from the M5 w/o the AMG Perf Pack. 590 tq is just nuts, and all us E55 owners know that. Torque wins as long as you can get it to the ground early and stick.

I will admit, I am a little bias, but I own both BMW and Mercs, I love them both. but if you do the math and weight of both cars 63 with Perf Pack, its no question. Or am I being a little bit too bias here? haha.

Can you imagine the 63 at 26psi? We all know the car can handle it with no problems.

The M5 is a hot stinky pile of trash and BMW knows it. Mercedes and AMG will always be better. An engine-less AMG is better than a POS M5. I suggest BMW stop competing with Mercedes and do more research on their "Active Sound Design" so that you can hear the non=existent engine through the stereo. AMG is automatically better, it just is, there's no reason and it doesn't matter how hard BMW or Audi or Jaguar try they're a joke.

PS. Jaguar is an even bigger joke trying to compete with Mercedes with that stupid Supercharged V8. Seriously, who wants a Jaguar, it just sucks. How can anyone say no to a new E63 or CLS63 over those delusional "rivals".

Have to say I think BMW's are better than Mercs as all rounders and definitively more sporty focused. The steering is sharper, ride more planted...

That said the M5 seems less modable its only got a 4.4 motor and pretty high in boost already. The E will take mods much better but it needs to get the power down... Both nice cars.

Same old story... I dont think I can take another M5 v Exx for the entirety of this model range lifespan.

If you're such an M5 fanboy why don't you stop "shopping" and go get yourself one....or maybe you could get a 550i and badge it an M5 like a good little poser If you don't like AMG then you're clearly in the wrong forum. It's AMG or nothing I will admit I loved the V10 M5 and I had the E39 M5 which I adored but the new one is dead and cold and has no appeal which makes it perfect for you

BMW was great once, they had their golden era with the E63 M6, E60 M5, E39 M5, E46 M3 and all the M before but after they started bringing in the 1 series and the X3 and what not they've lost their appeal. Their interiors are dull and clinical, their exteriors are plain and their engines have no spirit or character. What's the point in that? I mean I could tell the E46 M3 from a mile away just from the sound, the E60 M5 too with that stunning screaming V10 as well as the M6. As for the E39 M5 it may not be the fastest car now but it's a wonderful chassis, roaring V8 and a 6 spd and those looks Not too sure about the prior M models like the E34 M5 since I haven't driven them but from all the reviews and people's feedback they were great too. The W210 for example had nothing on the E39 and neither did the C55 have anything on the E46 M3. The E60 M5 was a pretty good rival for the W211 E55 and E63 but now BMW has lost it.

I will admit I am very bias towards AMGs but even from a neutral POV the new CLS and E are just insane. While I like the W211 E63 over the W212 the new E isn't a bad car and the CLS is just As for their interiors, the BMWs don't stand a chance and neither do they in the engine department.

So yes I think BMW has lost it and it's a shame since they were once great.
