if your going to rebuild the engine and go for huge power i have a suggestion. find a builder whether its TTM or motorwerks or shardul or someone else and sit down with them and lay out a game plan on paper. parts cost and time of the build are all important. what are your realistic expectations, and balance the cost vs the return. before you drop a single penny spend a large amount of time RESEARCHING what you will want to build. its easy to throw parts at an engine, harder to build a tight well balanced high hp engine that will last. good luck

Johncy, Real sorry to hear about the kaboom. Mine went 11 weeks ago and I see my broken CL in the garage everyday. Like Jack said, just a motor and they will go back together better than every! I am working with the best around to get a super built bottom end for my car and a few others that are in need like us..
Based on your description, you blew a piston or two and blow-by came out our PCV lines/air box and into your engine bay. These cars are real hard to blow head gaskets on (antifreeze vapor).
Don`t beat yourself up over hitting the rev limitor, that is normal and should not damage a motor that is set up right. We all hit it one time or another, and if that was bad, we would all blow up daily! I would say your pistons went at peak load , around 4500 rpm, just a few seconds before you hit the rev limitor.

I need more info on the damage done to my engine to consider a new engine. We'll see.

Am I the only one who thinks that this kid shouldn't be saving money to modify his cars with aftermarket superchargers and instead should be saving for the future?
Seems like he has very little of his own money and all his savings will be used for car parts while he lives at home.
Doesn't seem very smart.

Screw the future, live it up today, tomorrow is not promised to any of us!
I do seriously feel a little this way though because I have 5 or 6 friends who are no longer around that were my age and grew up with and I am only 29 years old now and they started dieing off several years ago. I always tell myself don't stress to much over stuff and enjoy today because who knows what tomorrow may bring. Money doesn't do a lot of good when you are 6 feet under. I would of course save money too, but certainly would not miss out on things just to save money that I may not ever get to use down the road. LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST!

it might be cheaper to buy a used engine and swap it out.you are going to pay an indy about 1k just to tell you whats wrong with your engine.
there is an easy 10+ hours in labor into taking that beast apart to tell you how bad your blew it up.
see if you can buy that used engine in the for sale adds and just drop her in.lower boost to a 168 pulley and enjoy the car.
the bill will start to add up real fast once you have an indy start taking her apart.
Its different if the guy was doing the work but talking this to an indy to tell him whats wrong when we pretty much know what he did is a waste of money.
you might need a new block if the piston ripped the walls apart when it went also.

tell them you think you blew up a few pistons and need to find out if the block is okay and see what they weill chage to find out.
I just dont want to see you go down the road of paying an indy to fix it step by step and try to find out how much to get her running total up front from the indy.
Trust me they want the work and explain to him your situation.remember if you buy a used engine you can get back some money parting your old engine.
like the surge tanks for people that want to paint there,tb,stock pulley and the whole blower could get you 1500 bucks if you find a buyer that needs a new blower.

Im pretty sure you can part your old crank also.im sure gtr would consider it from his keyway ordeal he went threw.
He would need to fix the issue that did this in the first place even if he rebuilds his engine.

Do you guys think I should sell my 82mm TB and TTM Fuel Rail kit for some extra cash or should I save them for when my rebuilt engine is done?

You aren't showing a piston from Exotics engine are you? One that is like comparing apples to grapes considering the difference that car had compared to the norm. And don't forget the tuning issues it had not being able to adjust when things were changed in the tune. That clearly is a problem right there which a run of the mill 180mm pulley bolt on car doesn't have
Lets stay real here.
