E55 warranty ?
Hi guys, I'm picking up an '05 e55 with 55k miles, it's a private party sale, so need to find a warranty co, any recommendations, saw mixed reviews on paragon. Don't care about minor stuff, I can fix, more on the supercharger & air matic.

So, carchex quoted around $3800 for a 3 year 45,000 mile warranty, their gold service, covers most things, don't think it covers the super charger.. (have to go to their titanium plan for that which is about double)
Seems like I'd be better saving $3800 for "what if" than paying them. I can work on the car myself and if its major I have a good mercedes mechanic who's looked after my 2002 when I had work that required a lift.
I pickup my 2005 tomorrow!
Cheers,
Grant

whatever you do STAY AWAY from The Guardian (based out of PA) - HORRID customer service... we had to be without our Denali for 2 weeks at one time.

Or buy your AMG through CarMax and get hooked up with a CNA warranty. Very inexpensive and they cover everything! CNA warranties are only available through dealers, you cannot buy them aftermarket.
My $.02.

I would not spend $3500+ for ext warranty. They are not bad car and don't think you need warranty if you plan to mod it. $3500 is a lot of money to repair and maintain.

I just went with a 1-year warranty through Assurant. I just had one of my Bi-xenon lights go out. I figured I'd test this warranty out. While in there, I told them about the wobbly passenger seat, the mirror adjust switch, the keyless-go handle (x3!), and the motor mounts. Total for parts and labor was $6k. They sent an adjuster out to check and approve the repairs. Ironically enough, they approved everything except for the light, which is what I took it in there for.
I paid $1400 for my 1 year, 12,000 mile coverage. Wise purchase.

Buy your service plan, (it's not a warranty), from the dealer where you intend to get the car serviced and there won't be any issues with denials. I've got CNA from my MB dealer and there's never a problem and it's paid for itself twice over.

AMG's sell quick on Carmax, usually only up for a day or so then sold or transferred. I lurk there every day keeping an eye out for my next MB. Probablly an S550 for a daily driver and I'll keep my E55 for the, "Pocket Rocket."
They have an S65 available at the moment and oh my god...![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Fidelity is one of the better ones out there. Too bad Daimler Chrysler doesn't cover AMG anymore. They are awsome.
