i'd pass and find another 05/06 E55 for mid 20s or high 20s with some up to date maintenance/service with 55-60k miles on it.
Look at it this way, you spend $20k for an 03,
airmatic shocks go, $500 per front for arnott reman shocks. Labor DIY or dealer charge $1200/side plus labor
leaky fuel sending unit, $900 fix at dealer or $500 for parts and DIY
spark plugs/coils, $300parts, or dealer $600
Get my drift. Find an 05/06 with these issues done and you can enjoy the car without having to fix it.

If you are a DIY guy, i'd say 17k or so would be a fair price... Prices for parts are expensive, but if you say take 7-8k for parts to get the car in tip top shape, that would be about 25k in the car and everything woudl be just about brand new...That's what I did and pretty happy about it! As for a 2005-06...the regular maintenance would still have to be done anyways, unless you find one that has already been done..Good luck

mb nav is horrible and pano shouldn't be a deal breaker over a regular moon roof. airmatic as well as fuel sending unit have been proven to go out at any time on any model year so i don't see any advantage on a newer year if this one is in good mechanical shape.
i say go for it if it's in good shape and within your budget!

what's wrong with silver? it's SO easy to keep it looking clean, while it's really dirty (LOL)

Thank you for your input. I want learn about the car a little more now are they all equipped with the air matic suspension? There is an open recall for a fuel filter module does have anything to do with the sending unit? Heated seats? Dynamic seats? Is there a difference?
Any info is appreciated,
Mike

That is a a start with the work done. I would recommend, all new filters, plugs, wires, fluids, etc...And to make sure to have some extra $$$ in case things go bad...parts are not cheap! Good luck!

A 2003 with 86K in silver just sold at the Manheim auction for $15.5K plus fees not long ago. If that's the same car, pass, as it was listed in below average condition, which can mean a lot of things but usually means prior paint/body repairs.
