Supercharger clutch

Bearings are gone.
Does the whole clutch need to be replaced? Can just the bearings/housing be replaced?
Stock s/c clutch from Benz is expensive. Are there aftermarket alternatives?
Thanks for the help guys.

Just had this done to my E55. The easy, quick, cheap fix is just to replace the bearings. As I have an extended warranty I took it to the dealer and the replaced the bearings and clutch at no cost.

Bearings are cheap though and a local shop can install them for you at low cost.

Hope this helps!

Alex

No noise or chirping.
Have had a couple of instances where there was no pull from the supercharger. Car has always been a little quirky, so i didn't think much of it.
Had the car in the shop on another issue and they said the bearings are gone. They priced out a full s/c clutch replacement. But if I can get away with just replacing the bearings....
The bearings/housing looked like there were gaps in the bearings. Thought this could lead to the s/c not engaging.
I can get a pic of what it looks like and post.

Are you sure your intercooler pump is not dead causing the S/C to shut down?

Ok, so here's a pic.
I've been told that the bearings (indicated by the red arrow) need to be replaced (because they are no longer spaced evenly). The shop said that part (just the bearings/housing) is not available from Benz, it comes as an assembly (along with the supercharger clutch assembly, indicated by the yellow arrow).
I'm hoping that you guys can tell me if what the shop is saying is legit or not. I just drive the car, I don't know what all the bits 'n pieces are.
Also, if that part indicated by the red arrow is available anywhere.
I was on eBay and looked at the Nachi stuff (there are only two listings for what i think the part is [Nachi part #45BG07S5AIG-2DL]). I contacted one of the listings and was told that they didn't have what I need. His answer was..."I believe that is the smaller size (32) we sell the larger (45).....".
I've tried searching on the board, but haven't really come up with anything definitive to make me feel comfortable that the Nachi listing is the correct part.
Hoping you guys can point me in the right direction.
Thanks in advance.

Or take it to a local MB shop and they can do it in one hour so only a hour labor charge. (~$100).
