Recent Delivery/New to board
Took Delivery of a '03 E55 a couple of days ago. Very happy with my purchase. Great performance --and I love the look and feel of the car. BTW, I waited 3 years for it.
Interestingly, I had a choice btwn the RS6 and the E55. A very difficult decision--both are great cars. I decided to go with the E55 for many of the reasons already mentioned in other posts on this board.
I plan to go the RENNtech route next week--ECU and pulley. Currently they do not offer sport mufflers for the E55. IMO, the car need a more aggressive exhaust sound.
I am looking forward to breaking in the car and doing the mods. I will post my results.

I believe the earliest information about a supercharged E55 was not until 2001/2002 after the SL55 got the engine. I am just curious. Have fun with your car.

I put my deposit down in Oct 2000. I waited a few months too. I remember reading about it, waited a few months then going down and putting a deposit. I was third on the list.
The wait now is killing me for an 04. But I should have a production date of around Aug 20. I am considering putting down a deposit now for the next E55. But, I thought I would try this one out first to see if I even like it and to see how reliable it is first.

I did not have a lot of advance info on this car. I believe sometime in May of 2000, I read about a possible boosted E55 in AutoWeek. So I went to a nearby dealer and put down a deposit on the car---I figured it was a good bet. Also, keep in mind the time period I did this--in 1999 and 2000 the lists for these cars and M5s etc were a mile long ---this was a way I could be high on the list--and less prone to the dealer shenanigans of manipulating the list.
I currently have a deposit on a CL65---will that make it here? Who knows, but if it does I want to be one of the first to own without paying a premium.
I will post some pics of the Car shortly--including my experience with the RENNtech mods next week. I am also working with a Custom stereo/fab shop here in Houston---looking for a way to incorporate a Nav and XM radio on the car---as close to an OEM look as possible. If something works out---I will post these pics as well.
