I hate the fact that we must rely on others to tune the car and I want a solution. This is the first car I own that doesn't have tuning software for it.

Sooo....any piggyback I should look at?

Piggybacks are all about changing voltages to fool the ecu that it is seeing something it's not. You just have to identify which wires on the ecu are what and splice in. There are plenty of universal PB's out there.

Although for the life of me I have no idea why you would want to use such a system.

I can see using a piggy-back to give yourself better on the fly tuning.

GT-ER, I was looking at the Apexi SAFC for my C43 when I was planning a supercharger.

Yeah but from what I've seen they rely on the maf sensor, which we don't have. I could be wrong though.

As for why I would want such a thing? Cause I want control over my vehicles tune and no-one offers anything that will allow me to control it.

Can it work mafless systems?

Ah, well then something like this?

Features

The ‘Pro Sequential’ ECU stands apart from most other piggy back computers because fuel mixture is modified by intercepting the actual fuel injector pulse signal, not by modifying Airflow meter or MAP sensor signals. This method enables engines with larger size injectors, even low resistance injectors, to be tuned with ease.

Retain your factory idle, cruise control, dashboard functions, fuel closed loop control, knock sensing, DSP, ESP and traction control.

Fuel can be modified +/-100% and ignition timing up to +/-50 degrees totally independent of each other at any engine speed or load.

On board 22psi boost MAP sensor ensures a correct tune even if the original engine sensors have been ‘saturated’ or reached their maximum reading. The PowerMod ensures a quick and easy tune with predictable and consistent results.

Sounds good, but what was involved in getting the piggyback to work. And was all the factory sensors and equipment still working?

I think its much easier to invest our time and effort into flashing the factory ECU. Right now i'm researching a few companys that seem to have good options but are very expensive.

If someone comes up with that, I'm in!

It's kinda pathetic that VW's/Audi's ( that use motronic ) have ecu tuner software available yet we don't.

Well I'm missing a little something here. Why are they so expensive I mean why is it so challenging. Is it like a hacking sort of thing were they "cracked" MBs encryption and if so why can't others do the same.

Maybe I'll try and contact eurodyne or unitronics since they already have tuning software for motronic systems from VW/Audi...it can't be all that different from MB motronic....can it?

I think your best bet would be to contact this company Dim Sport.

or maybe Alientech
