Unless you have ESQ. after your initials, they do not have to prove your Mod was directly related to your failure. I, myself was denied warranty service from a SA (it wasnt my regular SA) because I had regular PIAA bulbs installed for fog lights.

+1 with above. It does depend on how mod friendly the dealer is though. There are a few "select" dealers out there that "get it" and will install mods for you. Most don't and some will "flag your car" essentially voiding your warranty forever at the sight of mods regardless of what Magnusson Moss Act says
Been talked to death. Just type in Google
mbworld: what mods dont void factory warranty

Could not remember this name of the act...thanks
I remember in my younger years printing this out when i brought my car to the dealer and i got in a pissing match with this SA. I showed him this and he told me he knew what it said and didn't care. The Dealer has to follow the policy set forth by MBUSA, regardless on whats on that act.

The trick is to build a super good relationship with your Dealer's Service Manager as they have some leeway as to what they tell the extended warranty advisor if your car get's inspected.
It is a bit of a tightrope to be honest so if this is a major concern of yours, don't mod your car.
My $.02.

It really depends on many factors as stated above, but there is obviously a big difference between dealing with a MB factory warranty and a third party warranty. Something that might not pass on the factory warranty will likely pass on the third party, and your SA is more inclined to get it to pass because they are not paying for the fix.

Case and point, I had no drips and no complaints, but during a routine appt for an oil change I got a call from my SA asking if I wanted my rear main seal replaced for free as there were drips on the undertray. That constitutes a $75 part and billout is 7 hours, even if they can do it faster.
OP- performance and otherwise:
ECU tune
TCU tune
S55 driver side pipe (debatable gain)
Upgraded Bosch pump
Lighter wheels
Akebono pads
LED city lights along with other aesthetic mods
Debatably TB shaft grind but I would buy an extra from andrew

Thanks for all your help......the mods I really want are pulley/tune/tcu and im pretty sure these parts are not that easy to swap back to oem....btw it's MB starmark warranty. I guess I'll just wait for another year before doing anything, just don't want to burn the place down if the void my warranty.

We bought him (SA) gift cards for Xmas. Next time I go in, he's getting a nice bottle of Viognier.
So far in 3 months of car ESQ take-over (which he waived the fee), we've logged: new rear main seal ($$$$), new idler pulleys, new h/e pump, both fuel senders, new tranny filter/fluid/flush, front suspension components (I can't remem which one), free rentals. That's probably close to a $10,000 repair bill?
The entire service dept wants to buy my car, it helps I always sent the wife, and reminds her to be extra flirty. :gay:

NICE!! I may just do that, since my wife got bolt-on, I'll make sure she wear a very low cut tank top. Haha
Lowering car via STAR voids warranty if something were to happen with airmatic?
