Star lowering question/concern
I wan't to lower my car thru the star, but my question is what is the reason that mercedes doesn't do it right from the factory? Just right now finished watching the show "Ultimate factories" about corvette and they kept saying that the z06 that they built right now is pretty much a copy of their c6 racing car. Now their racing c6 is very low(like all racing cars).
If they would make z06 or any other cars lower from start, first of all it would look better esthetically and secondly it would sit on the road much better.
So why, especially on e55 that can be adjusted electronically, they don't make an option with a push of a button to lower the car?

Because 95 percent of peoplle who paid 90k and bought the car new were not looking to lower the car. The ride height from the factory is optimal for comfort and performance. Also all cars imported to the US have to meet a minimum bumper height requirement.

The ride definitely suffers when you lower the car, and so do your tires, but good lord does it look amazing.

To the OP, I have had 7 Vettes and 4 Z06...and trust me...you do NOT want to lower them any more, unless you like to bottom out on every friggin driveway, etc...They do look a little nicer...but a real PAIN IN THE A$$ to use anyway except the track (imho) (at the track they shine though)
With the E55, and the tire/wheel combo I just put on (245/55 & 285/30/19) my car at the lowest sport 2 position, looks GREAT (again imho
) with no rubbing! If i can get another mm or so with Star, I may consider that...but rubbing will be the determing factor for me
