LOL

these cars move pretty quickly once posted for sale... times must be hard for the dealerships, the MB dealer in SF has called me about 10 times asking if I can come in and check out more cars...

but seriously, there should be some better stickies in here! :p

Toadster should get together with Michael Kuzni and do a buddy purchase!
They are both in the same area. Be interesting to see who gets theirs first

I bought mine from an anesthesiologist in New Hampshire (I'm in Houston). Sold my Porsche in May and finally found my E55 in October.

It was worth the wait for the right one though.

Looked for 3 or 4 months myself, found "the one" 5 hours away so flew to Atlanta bought it and drove her home. Pulled in to a gas station before leaving Georgia and was told by an older guy "that thing is nice, is that some kind of new Ford?" lol

I was fully expecting to be flying somewhere to get a perfect car but I went to look at one with descnet miles and some options that I liked for a good price and bit on it. It has some cosmetic flaws in parts I'll likely be replacing so I wasn't too worried. Crack on underside of front bumper, and some minor curb rash on the wheels. Otherwise in great shape so I went for it. I'll very likely be doing a E63 bumper and different wheels sooner or later so not a huge deal to me.

Its my first benz so I'm still busy being wowed by all the crazy features I keep finding to be worried about the lil stuff for now.

I would say probably not since the E55, although fast and affordable will not peak his interest and he will end up with a Mustang GT with 300 horses that his friends will think is fast.

I watched patiently for over a year....just like I did initially when I found my first AMG...my C32 (which...were really damn rare actually).

The C32 when it showed up in Atlanta I put a down payment on sight unseen. I'd been watching for about 8 months. Didn't want an M3...wanted my damn C32 that no one ever even knew existed. It came through Select Luxury which does a lot of volume of exotics (the C32 was the lowest priced car they had) that are reviewed by the owner first. I kind of wish I still had that car because in retrospect...It is a LOT cooler than anyone ever knew. God it handled great with the Eibach set up I put on it.

Had that car for a while and then "grew up" and started wanting an E55 and set all my search agents to alert me for an '06 with 35K or less. Took a year. Literally. For one to come through Atlanta and it was one that came off lease...and a small independent dealer bought it at auction from MB. He posted it locally... and 3 hours later I was there.

I've now got like 53K on the clock on the 55 and I can't imagine ever getting rid of it. $ per performance don't think it will ever be beat... Little upgrades make it look amazing...

I don't know who toadster is...but I know when I was on my search...I never posted here probing..."should I buy one"..."what should I look for".. I did my research and knew and was active over on the C32 board.

You're either in or out and I say this person is out.

whoa, what? what kind did you have? because I'm thinking of doing the opposite. Selling E55 and getting a 911 turbo.

Boxster S. used to like to turn, a lot. The family racecar is also a boxster S.

The DOC is right and Clayton and Bucasa can chime in since they both spent some time in my Turbo Pcar, The Pcar is fun, looks good and fast. We all know it is a icon. BUT......the interior is just plain CHEAP. Plastic crap, shiaty leather seats, and so on. While I know it was fast, it is a different fast. People get in the AMG and are like........WTF......they are actually scared of the power. They yell things like....ok thats fast enough, or....my guts are smushed to my spine.....or I cant breathe when you take off like that. The Porsche in just a tuned form didnt get those responses. Maybe a 997 with the new interior and new front end would be better, but you CAN NOT BEAT THE E, CLS or S55 for the MONEY! Hands down!

I found my C55 with exactly what I wanted. (kind of fell into it really!) So if an 05 or 06 shows up with under 40k miles............. The pen is in hand!
