FS: W211 E55 Cluster

If anyone needs a cluster it's in excellent condition. Cluster has been flashed back to 0 miles allowing it to be authorized to the EIS system therefore showing the mileage from the car and not the ----- when the cluster isn't authorized.

Grant, never hope this is not too OT but I never knew the clusters could be reset back to 0(referring to E63 ones now). Is this done through star? GLWs though.

It's not off topic but yes any W211 cluster either 03-06 or 07-09 can be reset using a couple of different tools but Star is not one of them. It's uses a Motorola chip to store the data and the cluster can be flashed back to 0 niles thus allowing it to be autorized to the EIS system using star. Once authorized it'll read the mileage from the EIS or CGW and write that to the cluster. I know this is a simplied explaination but it can be done

Glad you could make out what I was tryna say in spite of my stupid text prediction . I can see an E63 cluster in my future since I find the white lights against the black background easier on my eyes . Would be nice to no longer turn the dimmer all the way to low when driving at night .

One o two people were just posting that they were looking for one of these and having a lot of trouble finding one just a week or two ago. May want to try and find that thread and see if they're interested.

I'm still curious as to what is going out on these clusters to make people need a replacement?

I replaced mine with an E63 cluster Black background but now I can monitor oil temps too which is important.

Where did you get the cluster and what do you have to do to program it?

Thanks

How much do you want for the cluster. My car only has 16,300 miles and works fine, so I don't need it, just curious.

I went through this whole process of flashing a used cluster to 0 miles and then trying to authorise it in STAR, but it would not do it.

STAR reported that the cluster had already been authorised once and could not be done agian so unless you can completely wipe all the memory clean and not just the millage I dont think it will work properly
