Eurocharged 82mm TB installation questions

I am trying to wrap up my Eurocharged Stage 3 installation with the 82mm TB upgrade.

I made a rookie mistake and need to be bailed out.

When removing the supercharger I disconnected the throttle valve connector and the bypass valve connector. I did not realize that they are the very same connector and don't know which goes to which now.

One of the harnesses is marked with blue tape. Anyone know which one valve that blue taped harness goes to?

Thanks!

How hard was the install? Did you do it yourself? Did you have a hard time removing and reinstalling the S/C yourself? Any info is much appreciated.

I will post up a full review once it is all in and up and running.

The supercharger unit is lighter than it looks. I pulled it off and reinstalled it myself. It is awkward but, can be done.

I make a supercharger kit using a 2.3L Whipple, front entry with a jack shaft. That dude is much heavier and very hard to muscle around by yourself.

Can any recommend a dealer or independent shop in the MD/Annapolis/DC area that can perform the needed throttle body reset for the 82mm throttle body?

Thanks!

That was the help I needed.

Based on that I searched and found a procedure for resetting the TB like you described.

It worked perfectly.

Thank you very much!!

ResettingTB copied from another thread:

1. Put tb on and reset the ecu with a scan tool.Dont start the car yet!

2. Go over to the throttle body and unhook the cable going to it.

3. Turn ignition key to the stage right before the car turns on. (position 2)You should get a error on the dash. (ESP Visit Workshop) wait 20 seconds and then turn the key to the first position not 0. leaving key intact.

4. Plug the cable back in.

5. Now go put the key to the stage right before the car starts and wait 3 min,the car will re adapt the throttle body and you will hear it move on its on. While this is going on, put everything back together!

6. Start car from position 2, and everything should be okay, tap gas peddle, rpm should drop normally, if they get stuck, or if you have a CEL, you did NOT do the reset correctly!

I just installed my EC 82mm tb on my 2006 CL55, and for anyone wondering, you do have to switch wires. It is not plug and play. I just cut into the harness for the throttle body.

Just switch wire 1 with wire 4
And then switch wire 5 with wire 6

After i got the car back together i started it and got a po638 code, the idle was eratic and i had 0 throttle response.
I thought i had messed up.
I started searching and found that i needed to switch there wires because they use a backwards actuated butterfly inside the tb on this one ( because it is actually made to fit an audi) .
Eurocharged made no mention of this when i spent 1800$ on their kit and sent no instructions with the kit....
Good thing i aint an idiot right?

Well considering you could have sourced the parts needed yourself and saved yourself $800+..........I think you've answered your own question!

lol

for all the guys that want TB upgrades, would have thought it was known by now.

SL55 2007 model has a full assembly for a 80mm tb stock with 80mm Y pipe (requires re wiring) but is the best plug and play option with stock like performance and of course the added power

82mm tb is from mercedes 550 engine, requires Y pipe from SL (2007 model) to get best gain and some cutting of the Y pipe (grinding down). Most power, but has hiccups that need to be smoothed out. Example need to raise RPM in N and D .

Not sure why you would use an audi one

The 82mm y pipe definately needs a little bit of persuasion to make it fit right on this new set up.. the power i gained from this mod is absolutely ridiculous though.
I plan on emailing eurocharged to have them send me a retune today, but the car runs fine without it.. i have had it tuned, just not for the new tb yet.
I get a slight hiccup as you said at about two grand in second gear i think, but only if i let off the throttle halfway through.. i dont feel its anything to worry about as it is that small.
I do also have the 3000 stall converter so that makes everything seem a whole lot smoother.

to my knowledge there is no 82mm y pipe. Its either stock or the one from the 2007 SL, which is for the 80mm TB, but at least bigger then stock.

When I bought my 82mm kit it was sent with a 80mm y-pipe used on the 2007 SL55 Evolution but there were 2 gaskets glued into the y-pipe to seal it to the 82mm throttle body. It clipped on the 82mm using the tabs on the y-pipe just like the stock y-pipe.
