URGENT: NHTSA Opens investigation into fuel leaks on the E55.
My guess is that they replaced the $30 seal and charged you $207 (including labor).... see post #235 above and look for Item #70 in the illustration and parts table I posted.
A simple seal is not a fix. There are plenty of guys who already did that and still have issues.

$207 is for diagnostics for the fuel smell, buzzing sound that came from front while rolling the car at very very low speeds, air bag activation error, and sun roof not closing or opening with one touch.
So they fixed the sun roof by oiling it, moved the pads further away from calipers.
Now they have ordered parts as in for the fuel seal and belt buckle since it needs a new one. It is costing me another $400 something so all in all it'll be around 950$.
Attached the receipt of the things that got done until now. I have to take the car in tomorrow to get those items fixed noow

Be ready to spend another couple of thousand in a few weeks/months.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a recall of 4,195 Jaguar XF models from the 2010 to 2012 model years due to potential fuel leak woes.
In its statement, NHTSA says that the affected vehicles are those "equipped with a 5.0-liter gasoline engine" – all US-spec XF models have this V8 underhood – but a spokesperson from Jaguar North America confirmed to Autoblog that this recall does, in fact, apply to both naturally aspirated and supercharged models.
According to NHTSA, "The affected vehicles may have a fuel tank fuel outlet flange that may crack." This means that fuel has the potential to leak onto the ground, and in the presence of an ignition source, catch fire.
The official recall campaign will begin in early December, at which point Jaguar will notify its owners and dealers will replace the faulty fuel outlet flanges free of charge. Scroll down to read the full NHTSA notice.

Vehicle Make / Model: JAGUAR / XF
Model Year(s): 2010-2012
Manufacturer: Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC
Report Receipt Date: OCT 26, 2012
NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 12V521000

Component: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE
Potential Number of Units Affected: 4,195
Summary
Jaguar is recalling certain model year 2010-2012 XF vehicles equipped with a 5.0L gasoline engine. The affected vehicles may have a fuel tank fuel outlet flange that may crack.
Consequence
The cracked flange may result in fuel leakage onto the ground. This leaking fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, may result in a vehicle fire.
Remedy
Jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected fuel tank fuel outlet flanges, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on, or before, December 7, 2012. Owners may contact Jaguar at 1-800-452-4827.
Notes
Jaguar's campaign recall number is J027. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Only 17 warranty claims and three field reports to initiate a recall

Doesnt that get you boiling mad?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I love how Mercedes is downplaying the issue when Jaguar steps up to the plate without any pressure from NHTSA and offers to fix the car.
Please list your ODI claim # so GregMB can add it to the list of confirmed reports
We're up to 66 so far on the AMG E55.

211-470-40-94 auxillary pu
211-440-05-07 cable harness
211-471-02-41 bracket
211-471-05-79 seal ring for both sides
i see that 211-470-49-94 is the newest design and not see the first part # at all in the diagram on prev posts. i dont think they replaced my fuel sending unit part 211-470-49-94, but actually the fuel pump which is the auxillary pu listed above. Will def take the car back if i continue to smell fuel.

The cars listed in your profile were not part of the original recall.
Thanks!

Well heres the situation now.... I will not receive a year warranty on a brand new sending unit because the warranty on the work expires in dec, now isn't it wrong that a new part shouldn't get a warranty especially when it was their techs fault, this stuff is just mind boggling!
I will be calling MBUSA and see if they will extend me the warranty on that part
Now imagine it was on your 12th month and it broke and then your "warranty" expires 3 days later and you are back in for the same problem but they charge you, that's bs especially for this whole fuel issue!
