Turning off Secondary O2 sensors
Earlier this week, I got my Kleeman headers and Pulley installed. I got my EC tune yesterday.
As we all know with installing Kleeman headers, you lose your secondary (Post primary cat) 02 sensors. I saw the leftovers of my exhaust system and my secondary 02 sensors are totally unplugged.
I got my tune from EC and still have codes P0140, 141, 160 and 161(all associated with secondary 02 sensors unplugged). After talking with Adam at EC and consulting with Jerry, he said they couldnt get rid of those codes to clear the check engine light remotely and that I would have to get them coded out in STAR DAS.
Anyone got any info on where in STAR to do this?

From my understanding as I just talked to Jerry about this yesterday, they aren't exactly turned off but the reading is manipulated to not trigger the CEL. Jerry mentioned just like reverron did that they have to be plugged into the car. You cannot disconnect them physically.

Not sure why the rears weren't plugged in...they should be. Might want to try my trick. Buy some o2 bung extensions from Bruce ttm for the rears. Worked so far w me and have put 700 miles since my headers installed and no cel light.

How is the power difference? Worth it?

Kleeman Cats require you to fit a set back spacer to desensitize the post Cat O2 sensor if I understand correctly. If not please educate me.

you can run no cats at all and have no codes thrown if you send the ecu to them, they code it for free if you buy there headers.

Is it not possible to build an O2 simulator that will always give the computer the reading it wants to see? These were quite popular in the late muscle car crowd till the EPA got mad at a few of the companies making them. There are instructions on how to build them online if you look around. Just plugs in and tells the computer what it wants to see as the post cat O2's only tell it if the cats are doing their job. Just plugs in and you zip tie it to something, it does not need to go into the exhaust stream at all.

AWESOME info. Do the secondaries need to be plugged in to code this out or does it matter if they are totally unplugged?
