Supercharger belt tensioner.
Has anyone had their tensioner go bad? I have a decent amount of belt dust under the engine cover and my belt is brand new ( gates ). Is there a sure way to know if the tensioner has grown weak?

When facing the engine from the front, they are on the left side with hood popped up.
Check the baring on the front one as that can go also.

My pulley's are fine. It is my tensioner that feels like it could be weak. I don't have a car to compare it to though so I could be wrong. Is there a way to test the tensioning of the belt?

mine started making screeching noise at startup a few days before it broke off and sent my car into limp mode pulling out onto the highway trying to pass someone- that was fun lol

Just the tensioner pulley but never a tensioner. I usually keep a few softly used tensioners around, just in case though.. 
Belt dust seems to be normal and it sticks around the tensioner area.
