Class Action - Fuel Leak
#51
By chance, can you recommend a company that offers the extended warranty? I know I can go through the finance office but was hoping there was a less expensive route to adding an extended warranty. It seems this could possibly be the first of many service problems to come with my car. I want to be prepared this time.

Also point out that you dont consider gas tank/fuel sending unit failure part of wear and tear like wipers or brakes.

Good luck, and let me know if you need my help!

Neil Goro, the attorney for this class action, sent me an update, basically stating there is a waiting period that must elapse before we can proceed. It all takes a lot of time is the bottom line.

Add me to the list as well... I've already contacted the lawyer that's handling this... he asked me to send him my repair bills. Will be doing that today.

Add me to the list as well. The last few times I filled up my wife noticed the gas smell in the garage. Today I got to smell it for myself. Thanks to the op for this!

Do I call the attorney directly now, or the OP of this post at this time? My 2007 E63 fills our garage with a VERY strong fuel smell after fill-up. Strong enough that I am afraid to park it inside.

I know the feeling, the first time I had the issue I used a garage door opener from the other side of the house out of fear of sparks igniting the fumes. Since you own an affected vehicle, my understanding is you're automatically part of the class, so there's really nothing to do at this point but wait and hope your garage doesn't blow up in the meantime. Hopefully we get some resolve sooner than later.

This entire situation is on MBUSA. And you may be correct but will the owners survive the explosion?
Audi is covering RS6 gas tanks with no question. If it leaks, Audi will replace it no matter how many owners or how many miles on the vehicle.

Yep, and the lawyers will have a field day because we have been screaming bloody murder for years. MBUSA keeps telling us FU at every turn. Even to the NHTSA engineers.

Just be aware that when you enter into a class action lawsuit you will (1) likely forfeit any way to get your claim settled any other way with the dealer, MB, or your warranty company, (2) enter into a process which may take many years to complete, (3) if the suit is decided in your favor, most of the proceeds will go to the attorney, (4) whatever is leftover will be divided amongst the rest of you and will very likely be negligible. Lots of class action litigants are awarded coupons for future purchases, for example.
