Definitely not worth to it to me to blow the transmission for an 11 sec 1/4 mile... As long as you're happy thats all that matters Good luck getting it fixed RBJ

You can get a used Trans for cheap and throw it in in a couple hours. Or send it off to get built but that's not cheap

Could be something electrical going on. I wouldn't necessarily say tranny is trash. From what I was told, tranny won't engage gears when shifted like when it gets knocked in to neutral that some have experienced. Also rpms were hanging up instead of dropping when engine revved. Car did a fine 2nd pass then was shifted to 4th and coasted to end of track. After trying to get on throttle again it wouldn't go and restarting engine which usually fixes this type of no gear engagement issue didn't work and the rev hanging was going on.

A little odd to me that nothing messed up while on the gas, it was after throttle was lifted and car was slowing down at end of track.

Thanks David! I started drinking after the car did that so I got 2 pass down and 12 beers and 2 cigars down. But yes that's exactly it. Hopefully it is something stupid. There were no signs of any major damage. It just sucks!!!!!!!!

Car has 49k on the clock. Tranny was flushed 8k ago.

Guys, we don't really know what happened. It was on a good pass and when I tried to shift into fourth at the line it didn't. So I coasted to the end of the track and went to turn off and when I hit the gas nothing happened. So I rode around the corner and tried to get it into gear and nothing. I stopped the car and turned it off then back on and still nothing.
Craig and Bart came to see what happened and we tried everything. It just would not engage. We towed it back and Tony from BIP tried to help but still nothing. So we loaded it on the trailer and watched some other races and left.
We will figure out what happened when I get back to south FL. I'll make sure every one is informed.

Sounds like limp mode.

Is there anyone with an sds local to you that can check for codes?

Hopefully it's nothing too serious.

+1
It could be limp mode. Unless tranny guts are all over the track

Yep - shot a message to a friend whos an mb tech and he said to also check the 13 pin connector and fluid level.

Said "check for codes as it could be something like a wheel speed sensor or can-bus communication fault"...

Nothing spilled, no noises, no clunks, no jerks. Everything looks normal. It just won't go into gear.
The temp gauge on the cluster said that it was 102degrees on that second pass. I think we could have still hit 10s. It was pulling hard as FAWK. I was going to let Craig take the next pass. I'm glad it did this with me behind the wheel. Craig prolly would have sh*t himself if it did it to him. Lol. Oh well, that's the game we play. It will be fixed and stronger for next time.

Don't know about 10.5 , but we will try to be ready for the 6th. Sh*t if you lower your 60 and hook you'll be in the tens. But thanks Jim!

Videos of the runs and Bart's runs will be up Monday.
