Don't be afraid of it man, find a nice wide open parking lot, put the car in dyno mode, and practice launching hard. Learn to keep it straight, it will give you a whole new respect for the car and could save your life if you ever got bent out of shape on the street homey.
LSD (no not acid) and toe-links will really improve control-ability.

I have a lsd, it helps a lot but with our torque you really need to practice keeping it straight, it is not easy but once you have it down, you will have so much fun blowing the tires off going sideways down the street.

This^^^^^^

I drive around in dyno mode all the time. It becomes very fun once you are comfortable and aware of what these cars can do.

So true. I had an error on a tune that caused ESP to shut off completely. It was a blast until I pulled out of gas station and punched. Usually, the ESP baby sits, but not this time. Car came right around on me. Felt like a dummy but then realized I had been so used to ESP helping me out, I totally forgot about control like I used to with older high hp cars.

You mean 500 click here Sorry, I had to

Maybe 540 on a cold day with the engine cold for one glory run?

P.S. wtf, it is in the 40s in mid May where you are? It has been hot day and night for months in Florida, it barely gets that cold at 2am during the middle of winter!

Has someone tested ABS in dyno mode ? I believe DYNO mode turns off ABS, but I have not researched thoroughly or tested (sorry).

My 03's ABS light comes on in dyno mode. Also screen switches back n forth from ESP to ABS not available.

Not only is abs off but it goes into a very crude brake proportioning algorithm, I wouldn't suggest driving in Dyno mode and IF you were to have an accident You're insurance company may not (probably not) cover your claim (and yes in a airbag crash signal the flash frame does include if ESP is on and if the car is in dyno mode)

Not to mention...with ESP off it's the same story...just a little looser. I have one of the sorry E55's that refuses to do a burnout with ESP off. Can't even get smoke. Tires within like 1.5% or less, and still fails. I wish my car was a lunatic with ESP off. Especially since nobody seems to know why some E55's are like this. You guys are lucky.

EDIT*-we need pushbutton dyno mode for e55's like mine.

dont worry bro... you get good traction right ? hp dont mean **** without grip.

This is true. But my HP is def not the problem. I just want my ESP to let me do a decent burnout at the track when I have it turned OFF. I always do the run with it on, but heating the tires is impossible when my ESP slaps me senseless at the slightest wheelspin...even when OFF.

LOL
+1 Start car, ESP-OFF/SportMode suspension on lowest setting/ManualM-1 mode, this is a ritual except if wet out.. I too have had problems w/ESP still rearing it's ugly head ONLY made me try harder to defeat it..

If your car still has problems w/ESP nanny's try my routine & report back, I tore thru entire enter section on green light, fully counter steering w/fishtail n' smoke NO more throttle cut-off or abrupt timing pulled etc... Burnouts don't stop unless I lift now

Whatever we're tuning!
This is what you need:

QUAIFE QDF9V1 or QDF9V2...........PERIOD!!!!!

One of the best, if not the best, mod and it will mitigate the ESP system interference almost completely. A real drivers mod

I usually keep ESP on for daily but when I'm at the track, it goes out the window. With the combination of R-comps and the coils, I can use the power at all times wherever I am on the track

You won't have ABS, and you will not have traction control ESP. The car will become more raw, not very recommended for daily driving.

Easily mash on the brakes with dyno mode in a panic and you end up locking your wheels and sliding into whatever your aiming at. Be very careful, I don't want to see a RIP thread.

https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...tructions.html

Once again, BE CAREFUL!
