First time at the track, 12.38@114, stock

My first run I managed a 12.7 @ 114 on a 2.0 60'.

The first run I used DC Sportmatic II and it spun a little for the 2.0 60'.
I changed to DC Sportsmatic I for the 2nd run and it hooked better. I forgot to turn off the AC too, so that run was with the AC on, haha. I might have managed a slightly higher trap speed with the AC off, but I doubt it would have been much.

I ran my POS rear tires at 17psi for both runs. They are cheap tires with 380 treadwear rating, certainly not very soft.

I could have had a lot more runs, I didn't really care though, that was a pretty solid run, I'm happy.

Thanks, I've had it a month, it was about time I got to the track, haha.

What are you 60' times running 11.0?

12.7 isn't bad at all and 12.38 is respectable. Wait for cooler weather and you might do a little better. Also, usually the lower the treadwear rating, the better it is for the dragstrip.

Thanks, it was probably over 70 here when I ran.

I'm looking into some new tires, sub 200 TW rating for sure.

What's the widest tire I should run on the stock rear rims?

My 60 was 1.60 and it was 100 degrees out.

I'm waiting for some cold weather.

I read your original comment incorrectly, I thought you were wanting to run higher utqg rated tires. I have 275/30R19's in the rear and it looks like there's hardly room for anymore width unless I let it rub. You might just want to invest in drag radials for the strip and some higher rated performance tires for street driving so you're not going through tires every 8 months.

I don't mind, I work from home most of the time. I don't rack the miles on the E55. I like a fully streetable setup. I came from the world of AWD.

Leave the suspension on the SOFTEST setting, and hit the airmatic RAISE button, and put it in 4x4 mode. Trust me....

I've tried it all. ABC responds so completely different than airmatic. Hydraulic vs pneumatic.

Good job for a first time out! With more practice and a better 60 ft, you'll cut those times a lot!

Suspension completely raised.
It helps with weight transfer on the launch. Then as you should know it will drop back to normal ride height after 60mph.

Lol. He is sayin if you were at a different track (one of those mentioned) where they get good weather (cool/cold and low humidity and or the right barometric pressure for making power) you could have went faster. Air Density can play a role in the cars performance so the lower that number (closer to sea level) or even below sea level the better off you are for running killer times (if you can hook off the line).

I used to think it was 70 but specifically went slowly at those speed ranges and increased until it lowered down on my last trip from the Keys a few weeks ago so that is how I know for sure it is 75
