Transmission slippage/engage then disengages
Hi, I was driving home today and was going about 45mph when i had the pedal at about 1/4 throttle (normal driving). The car then revved up almost like the transmission slipped for a second and went back to normal. A few minutes later down the road the transmission decided to not respond to any throttle input..I could only hear the supercharger whine when I press the pedal. My car came to a dead stop as I pulled over to the side of the road. I turned the car off, put it back into drive and it would engage until a minute later while i was driving down the road when it would decide to completely disengage. Did this multiple times until I finally was able to make it home. Anyways, does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be wrong with the tranny? Thanks.

It could be something as simple as the fluid level. If it suddenly started doing this and kept on doing it after multiple restarts, then you may have a pretty bad leak somewhere. At the very least check the level and condition of the fluid and look under the car for leaks. If it's not that, then I can't even hazard a guess as to the cause.

Damn..ic. I have searched and some are saying to check the level of the oil to : search near firewall, beneath air cover, etc.. but no one with a 55 chimed in. So..How would I go about this exactly? Appreciate it.

Do you have any leaks under the car? Have you checked your fluid level? Passenger side fender, lean into motor, between motor and firewall. Black cap with a red plastic lock which needs to be broken. You do need a dipstick though, does not come with one.
Someone used a thick wire from Home Depot and measured up. That would also work in a pinch, 4' long. I don't have those measurements, it's in another thread. I just recommend getting a dipstick.
