2007 E63 AMG
E55 heat soak, what to do?

My experience is limited as it wasn't my car (I have an 07e63), but a buddy and I swapped to compare, so I got about 2O min of seat time in an 06 e55 stock with about 50k miles.

It was about 90 degrees out, and the car had been driven about 30 min to my house, by in my short drive I mostly cruised, got on it a couple times, and felt the blower cut off. I understand if guys go pass after pass at the track, but is it supposed to be that easy to soak these things, or is the guys pump failing?

He says he never has that happen on cool days, what's the easy fix?

The HE and pump will work as Shardul mentioned, I also like the killer chiller with meth setup.

killer chiller?

Would the killer chiller be beneficial/applicable to my E63? I noticed a huge improvement at the track on a moderately cooler/drier day compared to the heatwave I ran in the my first time out.

no the KC will not the applicable on the NA 63 motors.
But it is a good mod on the 55k motors.

it really sounds like the pump is bad,, it is located under the pass headlight. you need a Bosch Intercooler Fluid Pump OEM replacement, with wire harness adaptor

+1, My pump went on me before, lost a lot of power once the car warmed up. Pretty easy replacement too, just pull the bottom engine cover off and youll see the pump near the bottom of the car under the pass. headlight. theres 2 options when changing pumps also. If you plan n replacing coolant afterwards, use the drain plug on the driver-side of the H/E. If you plan on using the same coolant afterwards, be sure to clamp the feed and return lines quite well as to not let coolant flow. then its easy street, unblolt pump, unplug, plug new one in, bolt it up and reattach hoses and remove clamps then bleed. simple as that
