Hi
Not sure if it was discussed before. I just got 2007 E63 with 36K miles. After first week of driving I noticed that when I am breaking for red light or whatever, and gears are downshifting I really feel like I pressed breaks too hard. It happens when downshifts from 5th to 4th gear and also from 4th to 3rd. Not sure whats the reason. First I felt it only when transmission was downshifting from 4th to 3rd, but after 6 hours trip (mostly high speeds) it started doing the same with 5th to 4th gear. Not sure if it's memory.. or fluid or something.....
It happens in C or S mode
Thanx

Try the sneaky ecu reset, search function in this forum will help you pull the step by step instructions.

I've experienced this multiple times usually only in 2nd gear tho when coming to a stop. The transmission seems to be fighting with slack or someone like that. Typically only happens in manual mode. By the way, sneaky ecu reset doesn't seem to have many reports of working in our E63 W211 cars (2007-2009), mainly just the E55s. I never had any success anyways...but I wish I did!!

Did you do any research on that, diagnostics? Mine in manual is ok. Always happens in C or S. At the beginning it would happen couple times a day and now it's every time.

Nah, it never bothered me enough to go through the hassle of asking a dealership to take my baby for a few days to replicate. Plus I'm on extended warranty now, so if it aint broke...they aint fixing it.

Just got my car fro service. They updated software and changed transmission fluid and it fixed the problem. Now there is another problem, after driving for about 20 miles I got Check Engine light. Don't know what to do.... Any ideas?

First thing I ever bought my car was a code scanner. What's the code you're getting? Autozone or Oreilly will check it for free if you haven't bought one.

I'll stop by Autozone and will post code. It happened 30 minutes after I brought it from MB service....

Personally I'd know what the code is before taking it back. Never know what you might be in for and it'd be wise to have an idea of the issue in case it is related and they try to say its not.

I know this thread is really old, but perhaps someone still follows it...

I have a little jerky transmission too when going from 2 to 3 when cold. I took it in for service and requested tranny software update. They advised agains it and said that they've seen 3 customer who updated tranny software in their W211 E63 and it made it worst. They recommended replacing the valve body with the updated 3rd generation (or smth like that) if it gets really bad.

what about your trans mount? service the trans? I personally haven’t seen complaints about the update so far.

My mounts need to be replaced. They aren't horrible, but it is time to replace them. The tranny was serviced in may of 2015 when the car had 39K miles. Currently it has 47K, so no service is due. The shop that I mentioned reset all adaptations today, and warned me that it might act weird while it is learning. It is been worse today, but hope it will adapt to my driving style and then become smooth (at least as smooth as it was before resetting.) I actually have my own thread here: https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...nsmission.html

change the mounts, they’re not really expensive. Can make a huge difference

Thanks, will do. The mounts themselves are $130 for each OEM and $140 for a pair of Corteco. But the quote I got from 5 Mercedes shops here in MA was $1000. I am not a DIY-er who can replace mounts, so will try to find someone qualified who can replace them for cheaper. If can't find, will have to pay 1000 and get them replaced

Sorry, I was speaking about engine mounts. I was told that my engine mounts were bad and that it was recommended to replace all 3 including tranny mounts.
