air intakes

Which air intake kit to go with the needswings or the carbino airbox? I like the carbon fiber but which one will get me more hp?

you to Hate
The Needswings intake does not fit an 82 tb, yet. And I like my Carbino airbox and python tubes, and its made for stock tb or 82tb. I think its really your choice on what you want it to look like when you open your hood.

Dirt Scooters
Just go custom. Better results when done right in my opinion.

Check out the Fab-tech intake tubes.. Cheap, 3" and aren't restrictive like the stock inlet tubes..

never thought about custom intake set up really, i like the whine from the blower with the needswings set up. if i have to modify it so be it. i would prefer the cf airbox because it def looks better but i dont know which one will produce better hp results.

I know looks wise the cf airbox hands down, but i dont ever pop my hood to show off.

the stock intake flows 498 cfm(don't quote me I know i am close) yet i do know the Needswings intake for the E55, SL55,or the CL55 flows 700 cfm that 202 cfm will get you 30 to 40 HP. jim

i was comparing the carbonio airbox to the nw setup. i know it's a major difference over the factory setup.

How is this measured? Just the intake itself? There are other restrictions in the intake path. For instance if your intake inlet or tb flows 350cfm why would you care that your intake flows a million? When I designed my intake I took the whole intake into account from inlet to the heads

that is Probably the best way to do it, I do know my E55 Needswings intake along along with the factory stock E55 and 2 0r 3 of the very well-known major named intake, Were sent to The(and don't quote me on this) but I think they went through speedriven or directly to ABC engineering for performance cfm test. The only ones that were published was the need wings and the stock,
And yes it was the intake only from the very front all away up to the throttle body. This information was word-of-mouth and not anything that I saw in writing so take it with a grain of salt.go here and in one of the pic you can see the E55 and how it goes through the radiators support, using the factory snorkels just not that he 55 snorkels, the snorkels are three and all away( no indents) look here
