Seems a very common theme. I tried in 2008 to get a bunch of people to go to Laguna Seca to see the SL65BS launch.
Even with a large group of guys from Afalterbach to talk to and me with a trunk load of hamburgers and hot dogs with all the fixings, only one guy from LA showed up.
Of course the CLK63BS hot laps from the Chief BS engineer for me and MJ50 sort of more than made up for it. That and... oh wait, can't talk about that.
For those new and did not see the picks, or say "Pics or it did not happen"

Me with the guys from Afalterbach. Some of these guys are the ones for the F1 pace and safety cars.

No one showed for the C63BS at Laguna either. That did not turn out as well since they were filming for a German car TV program. Did meet some of the guys in the photo above again.

I'm a former bay arean. Well Modesto, so not too far. I go very often to see my family out in Modesto. I have a couple of trips lined up this summer to escape the heat in Arizona, and would be nice to get out of Modesto and hang out in the Bay area a bit. Everytime I go back to that crap town, I end up getting really bored and want to go back to Arizona.
And I definitely would've showed up at Laguna Seca, WTF!
