E55 is down again........FAWK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Went to PBIR tonight. Weather was kinda good so I thought I'd try my luck. Well, It fu*ked me in the as* hard.
Trans #2 is broken.
More details soon. I'm leaving the track now and have an hours drive home. I'll post up vids and the vid it broke on.
All this talk of launching off idle is bullsh*t! That's how it broke the first time and the second time. Every time I launch from a stall it's fine.
Sorry guys! I'm fawkin hot right now!

Sorry to hear RBJ that's why I have been freaked to do anything harsh to my tranny after getting it back last Thursday. I always launch with the engine slightly revd to 1500rpm or so.
Keep us posted. What part seems to have broken this time?

sorry to hear. Did you replace all of the plates? How did you check for clearance or did you just use the old snap rings? Though it took me several additional days, I put mine together on the lower (tight) end of specs. Also, all of the o-rings are critical though many will say they do not require changing. It is a PITA to get to the inner clutch o-rings but crap will get stuck in there from a bad trans like yours.
More than a few trans peoples told me to be very careful with those tony 'ceramic' rings where even a scratch will cause significant problems shortly after.
So far around 5-6k hard miles and no issues. BOL to you.

Okay guys I'm home now. I've managed to cool off and now I got a few beers in me.
On the last launch I made it about 100 ft. and lost power. The car would not shift into 2nd gear. It was stuck in 1st. So I coasted down the track, got my 100sec time slip and drove straight to the trailor and put the car on it. It still goes into gear, but won't get out of first.
Now I didn't even bother trying to turn off and reset or anything. I just loaded it up asap so that I didin't have to push it on the trailor.
We will try to reset tomorrow. And try what ever we can. Who knows, it might be fine after a hard reset. But I dunno.
Loading vids now.

Launching hard off idle is likely allowing the converter to "flash" to a notably higher RPM and with the crazy torque and a sticky surface its hell on the drivetrain. Not sure what the stall torque ratio is on the stock converter but you're probably hitting the trans instantly with ~1.4-1.8 times the torque the motor normally makes by letting it flash like that. Loading it up on the converter will help it launch without that sudden spike and multiplication of torque that likes to break things.
Chawkins will know what I'm talking about. Torque converters can do some crazy things in certain conditions.

His second trans was not built, it was a stocker. Sorry to hear man, launching off idle maybe harsher but it is proven to run the best 60's.
Try the sneaky reset bro, you maybe in luck.

I want to be there when you check it out, JIM

Sucks man, I know that feeling oh to well from my Audi. 7 broken transmissions in that thing, but shredding teeth off gears is usually my problem. It sucks to think about it but maybe you need to call up Paramount Performance or Southern Hotrod about a built tranny that will supposedly take anything, they are like $4500 though if I remember right which is a little tough to swallow.
