I keep breaking things... Good or Bad?

I was driving to work and was almost there when I heard this noise. It was kinda loud and when I slowed down all I could hear was grinding and clicking. Then the car wouldn't move after I stopped.
I got the car over to Nemo at Rage-Tek and he lifted it to see what happened. And we found out that I broke the differential. Luckily I have a spare as well as spare axles, and a brand new quaife LSD. So they are going on as we speak.

My engine must be strong if I'm breaking everything around it. What do you think? Is this good or bad?

Both... The good: your building out the weakest parts of your 55.... The bad: pocketbook is taking a beating lol

Wallet is and will take a beating but I think of it as building all the weak parts so they don't break later. It'll all be worth it when get that slip with 10's in the quarter.

Stock diff got me well into the 10's. Sucks that you keep breaking stuff causing you to upgrade though. Text me I've got some info on something you can do to help also and make it stronger. Can't let all the secrets out on here right

If you not breaking parts, you're not going fast enough!

When I brought my car back from Silverdollar with the trans broke, the guys at Rage-Tek said " Congrats! Your making enough power to break things". I almost fell on the floor laughing when they said it.

Heard that far too often not too long ago. Problem was it was in my MX days and broken bikes usually equalled broken bones. I have a few of those (clavicle, ribs, elbow, wrist, finger, toe, and by far the worse was the femur). I've always tried to build cars as reliable as possible and aiming for higher goals than I was likely to meet knowing they would be more reliable. A friend has a 1100+hp LSX on moderate boost that he drives around all the time at 7-800hp and beats on it non stop and has yet to break anything. Good lesson learned there.

one car at a time
Build it properly and don't abuse it and you will have better luck with reliability....

Drag racing is very hard on the powertrain (especially gear box and differentials)....

Sorry for your expense...

Jim,

Will you have the upper pulley installed by Friday? I might come out to see how much the improvement is.

The car won't be done by then. I'm adding something else also and it has to be retuned.
Good luck! Maybe I'll make it out.
