Supercars on State Street - 2012
I was invited to participate in the Supercars on State Street show, to benefit cancer research, last weekend. The show was in Harrisburg, PA and we ended up with about ~130 cars with a mix between supercars, near-supercars and stuff that I wouldn't consider in either group. Not the point, as the goal was to raise as much money as possible, and everybody's money spends, regardless of what car they drive. Mrs. Benz-O-Rama accompanied me, and we really couldn't have had a better time. Weather was perfect, the people were all very cool, and the hardware was amazing.
We all met for registration right outside the city limits, then we were paraded into the city, and on to State Street, escorted by police. Local news covered the event, and there was a automotive TV show there too, of which the name is escaping me at the moment.
A few MB world members, and Bruce from TTM showed, but the MB contingent was not represented well. I think only 3 MBs total, that I remember.
Also, the videographer that filmed the Montauk Beach House premier that I went to ( http://vimeo.com/46131888), was on hand to film this event too. I didn't get much time in this video, but we did some stuff with just me, and the organizer of the event, in his Lotus, after the show was over. Can't wait to see that, and I'll post it when he's done putting it together...
Here's some links to a few sets of the event.

One at the staging area, before we went over to the show...

And here's a few of mine from after the event. We did some pics, and shot some video of me sliding it around a little

And the gratuitous Instagram shots...

Most people kinda knew it *might* be quick. But once I got talking to them, and told them what it ran, if they asked, there was a little disbelief at first. Hell, with all these 9sec and near 9sec MBs running around now, my car seems pedestrian. Was a hell of a lot of fun, and the cause couldn't have been better. Getting squirrelly, underneath that bridge was real fun. Doesn't look like it, but it was a REAL small area, and I had to keep the car in tight, so I didn't end up having a real bad day, and looking like a douchebag in the process.
