I looked at these before, poorly built, rough ride, expensive *** hell to repair, and you will need to repair often. the early ones also have had transmission issues not to mention you'll kinda look like a tool.

+1...not good cars at all....Other than saying you have an exotic Italian car, it is a step in the wrong direction and you will be disappointed.

Why are so many peeps dumping the w211s? Too much $$ in maintenance? Too old looking model? I plan on keeping mine as long as i can...even though i'm still adding mods to it every few months or so. Still hard to find a 4door with this much hp and still look elegant/luxurious.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage
the picture won't show up on my computer, but from what people have said, i'm guessing it's a maserati quattroporte? stay away from those, i was in the market for one before i bought my E63 and at age 21, i figured it'd be the wrong car to try and keep up with maintenance costs (night and day difference in cost between owning an AMG) i would suggest the GT though, like an 09'. i've heard good about those. if you do decide to sell your E55 within the next few weeks though, lets trade brake pads, mine are getting low

When I first saw the picture, I thought.. why is he getting a Maxima.. Then I saw the side ports, and thought: Oh, its a new Buick Lucerrne

I can not speak to reliability, but I think the W211 looks a lot better.

Keep the AMG my friend. The Mas is SICK and sounds SICKER with an exhaust but I haven't heard too many good things about their maintenance and overall quality.
Whatever you decide...best of luck!

Plus, the E isn't my daily driver anymore (my ML is), and only comes out on nice days.

They sound amazing. My boss has one and I have had the opportunity of hearing the exhaust at least for a moment before I walk him with my SL after following him out of the parking lot. I did it twice and then thought better of it.

Actually, you would be surprised on maintenance costs... Really not all that much more than a W211 AMG.... I have a hookup on parts, and they are not all that much more than AMG parts. Plus, a friend is a certified Ferrari/Maserati tech. Helped me more than once working on the 05 Maserati Coupe...

We would need to swap quite a few things to get my pads to work on your car...

Plus I don't know if you really want my Porterfields on your car...

Go look at one in person. So much plastic!
I work down the street from the local dealers Maserati service shop. They always have a lot of work....

Driven ~15 of them! Drove 3 just this past weekend...
Might not be as fast as the 55, but man it felt soooo much more special than the 55.
BTW - this is the toy that shares the garage with my 55:

Have some experience with the feisty Italians.

a few thousand miles a year doesn't qualify for a reliable car. Daily Driving the car does.
