I recently bought my E55 about 4 months ago. It had a EC 180mm pulley and tune.
To make a long story short, the previous owner apparently had his pulley fly off and damage the crank snout/keyway and he did a ghetto hackjob on it to hide the problem and make the pulley fit back onto the car. Surprisingly, the EC pulley had very little wobble and I had no idea of the issue until I decided to switch to a ASP pulley.
My ASP pulley wobbles pretty badly compared to EC one during idle, but above 1000RPM it stays really straight. The problem is really bothering me and I don't want to drive the car around always worrying about whether or not my pulley is going to fly off again.![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)
This is very depressing for me. I love the car and I even considered dropping in a new motor, but that wouldn't be worth the time and $$$. Does anyone have any experience or can refer me to a shop that can pin the crank?

You're right, but i guess its just hard for me to ignore the issue and I'd rather get it taken care of now instead of taking the risk and waiting for it to come off and leave me stranded somewhere. (If that ever does happen)

I'd risk being stranded for the many thousands of dollars it'll take to get it fixed. I have this exact issue in my car and been running great for 1.5 years. Don't know how the other person fixed it though, don't know if they did the same thing I did.

Definitely get it fixed man. If you catch the problem before it hurts your crank snout to badly, you wont have a problem pinning it, putting in a new keyway, and having piece of mind.
If you let it linger, it could do severe damage to your snout, and then you are in for thousands to get it fixed.
We sell pin kits, pm us if your are interested:

Im not sure how bad your pulley wobbles at idle, but sometimes it scares me to look at mine.

I'll answer that for you. Its working, but not working the right. I wouldnt quite say its fixed its more like a ghetto, temporarly solution. The keyway was damaged and then has been shaved down very badly with a dremel or whatever they used so that the woodruff key can fit back inside.

This is what I did to mine:

It's a beefy enough key that I can't imagine it EVER sheering. It's over twice the size of the oem key.
