Header coming loose?!

I noticed an exhaust-leak/muffled type of low tone coming from the engine area this morning when I started the car. So I popped the hood and looked around and noticed this.. also sounds like the noise is coming from this area..

I don't know what this is SUPPOSED TO look like but it doesn't look right to me. You can clearly see the bolt thread and spacing between the two pieces. Is there a bolt missing?!

This is spring loaded bolt so gap/ spacing is normal. If there is an exhaust leak you will see some burnt black marks .

It's a ball and socket type flange. It looks fine to me.

This place is a joke.
Looks normal. Smell around the engine compartment at idle and see if you detect any raw exhaust smells

It might be cracked where the flange is.

I've had copper bolts on my renntech headers loosen up twice over past 2 years. Its a real PITA and I'm not sure on why it keeps occurring. Each time I've notice the leak is on cold morning start ups in the garage, As well I occasional get a low resonance hum in the cabin at low speeds. I finally ordered new bolts to replace the old ones to see of that will address the issue. No issues with the connection between the headers and primary cats as you illustrate.

Hopefully someone can get some insight into fixes....

Hm interesting.. well I know I didn't have that noise before and I did a lot of racing last night before I parked her and also a good 100mph+ blast for a straight 1/2 hour on the way home. Me and a friend are thinking that the fast and long drive home might have heated things up too much and burnt a gasket out? Not sure. It's just scarey hearing it I don't want my engine to blow or something lol. And there's no error codes on the screen or anything so what the hell.. she still pulls fine and everything though. And after getting up to 40mph or so the noise doesn't seem to be there or get any louder.

I've seen E55 with shot motor mounts cause the stock manifolds to break. Are you're mounts good? Do you have stock manifolds?

Also attached a pic of my rear main seal, how BAD does that leak look? Dealership told me I had the leak but it "wasn't serious".

So I guess I am getting headers sooner than I imagined.. lol.

Is there any immediate danger with a leak like this? Such as running lean or something.. I really like to "beat" on my cars so to speak but worried running through gears with this leak might cause some other problems..

Well I'm going to have my local shop put some welds on it to hopefully cure it for now. I also have a fluttering or click clacking sound that appears when I give it some light throttle and I thought it was some interal noise, hoping that sound is just the fluttering air coming out of this leak. I want to go Eurocharged stage 2 but after doing a bunch of headers research tonight I take it the Eurocharged headers have some fitment problems and the MBH ones are the way to go..
