damn...so hang on, for this to work on a USDM car, you need to retrofit the button that sits on the door card, right?

so bizarre that MB wouldn't have this feature on a USDM motor....

Correct, you also need the door switch.

I think it would be cool but. is it worth it? I think that's why I probably wouldn't go for it.

I remember it being about $1000 for the parts from Benznl when I inquired. folding brackets and button. I'd rather spend that on a DTM steering wheel.

Just my .02

I'm keeping the switch but if anyone is serious I'll order another switch from Germany and include it in the sale.

Yes I still have them, it's not that hard to install them, pretty basic 3 screws on each mirror plus removing the driver side door panel to install the new folding switch.

So these don't fold in automatically when the car is turned off? You need to press a button when you get in and get out? And why are you getting rid of them? Thanks.

I think when you lock the vehicle they close and when you open the door they open back up the switch is used for closing them when you want to get through a tight spot

Correct, and would need a bit of coding to make them work like that.

Yes they do, when you lock the car with the key fob they fold automatically. If you look in my sig you can see I upgraded to the e63 mirrors.
